Ninja Turtles and SpongeBob Rank as Top Animated Series with Kids for the Month
November is a good month for Nickelodeon, as two of their shows – Spongebob Squarepants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – managed to rank as the top two animated series with K2-11 across all TV, with TMNT’s viewership averaging 4.9/1.6 million while Spongebob garnered 6.2/2.1 million. The two shows are also the top animated shows among total viewers, garnering 4.1 million total viewers and 3.3 million total viewers.
The CG-reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles managed to garner critical acclaim, in direct contrast with the planned movie reboot by Michael Bay, which was panned due to the auteur’s plans to modify key elements of the franchise (such as the turtles being aliens instead of mutated animals), proving that there’s nothing wrong with the franchise and no drastic changes were needed.
Nickelodeon closed the month of November as basic cable’s number one network with kids aged 2 to 11.
