SDCC: First Look at SpongeBob SquarePants: The Legend of Boo-Kini

Fans of SpongeBob SquarePants who are not able to attend this year’s San Diego Comic-Con might have missed this, but Nickelodeon’s panel for SpongeBob SquarePants: The Legend of Boo-Kini has finally provided the world with a first look at the upcoming special, which is notable for using stop-motion animation instead of its usual 2D. You can check out the sneak peek video below:

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom will feature the character “The Flying Dutchman,” and will premiere on October 2017.

Aside from the sneak peek, attendees were also treated to a live table read of the fan-favorite episode “Shanghaied,” by the series’ notable voice actors om Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy) Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs) and surprise guest Brian Doyle Murray (Flying Dutchman).
