Third SpongeBob SquarePants Movie Release Pushed Back

Paramount Pictures has decided to get the release dates for its upcoming feature films penciled in before the year ends, which means fans will know when to expect the films they have been waiting for, which according to reports includes several popular Hasbro toy and game-inspired films, in partnership with Allspark Pictures, such as a new G.I. Joe film that’s about to hit theaters in March 27, 2020, and a Micronauts movie slated for October 16, 2020.

The slightly bad news has to do with the fact that the upcoming films with the earliest release dates will be released on 2020, which means that one of the most anticipated offerings from Paramount – the third SpongeBob SquarePants movie, will also be released on said year: the new release date for the third SpongeBob SquarePants movie is July 31, 2020, more than a year after its original August 2, 2019 schedule.

Other upcoming films from Paramount include an untitled Hasbro film (that many fans believe to be based on either Visionaries, M.A.S.K., or ROM the Space Knight), which is set for October 1, 2021. There is also a new Dungeons & Dragons adaptation scheduled for July 23, 2021.
