Cartoon Network Debuts LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles on Wed, May 29 at 8 PM ET

LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles will be on Cartoon Network on May 29 at 8 PM ET

LEGO Star Wars returns to Cartoon Network at the end of this month with the upcoming The Yoda Chronicles, a brand new Star Wars story that will be told in three animated specials. LEGO Star Wars: The Phantom Clone, the first of The Yoda Chronicles Trilogy, will premiere on Wednesday, May 29 at 8PM (ET) on Cartoon Network. The second and third installments are scheduled to air later this year.

The Yoda Chronicles is set in the prequel era, and centers around Jedi Master Yoda and a fresh batch of Padawans who are trying to stop Darth Sidious and his thugs from creating a powerful super-weapon that could crush the Republic. Trying? What was I thinking? Obviously, they WILL stop Darth Sidious. Or NOT.

In The Phantom Clone, the first 30-minute special, under the orders of Darth Sidious, Count Dooku sets out to create the ultimate weapon for the Sith. It is now up to Yoda and the Padawans to prevent Dooku from carrying out his plan.

Michael Price, a long-time writer for The Simpsons, and the writer of LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace and LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out, has been credited for writing the script. The special is produced by Danish studio WilFilm. Pay close attention to ToonBarn in the next couple weeks to see more stories, events, and possibly interviews surrounding the debut of LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles.

All of the LEGO Star Wars Specials have seen consistently high ratings for Boys 9-14, according to Nielsen Media Research. This trilogy should continue that trend, considering that these are the only new animated Star Wars stories we may see for awhile.

The Cartoon Network Special will introduce Jek 14, an all-new original clone character who has been given special enhancements by the Force. The special also marks the first time that entirely new Star Wars characters and vehicles have been fashioned specifically for LEGO Star Wars, and building sets related to the special (also featuring Jek 14) will be available starting this August.

I am a Big Fan of all types of animation. Like a lot of things, the cream always rises to the top. My favorites have included Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels, anything Pixar, Phineas and Ferb, Voltron Legendary Defender, and the DC/WB Animated Films. I have a lot of Old School favorites as well, such as Star Blazers, Voltron, Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry, and Scooby Doo.
