Clone Wars opens big in theaters!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

The latest Star Wars film in the franchise, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, opened up in theaters in third place this past weekend, with $15 million dollars.  Thus far, the film has had a mix of reviews, from Star Wars fans and Star Wars haters, alike.  This marks the first movie in the series that is completely animated.

The “war” is first mentioned in non-animated Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, from 1977, but not shown on screen until the second episodes Attack of the Clones from 2002.  The animated microseries Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003-2005) chronicle some of the war’s major campaigns, which lead into the story from this film.

How many of you saw the film?  And what did you think?
