New Star Wars: The Clone Wars Clip - A Sunny Day in the Void

A new clip has been released for the upcoming Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode, titled “A Sunny Day in the Void.” The episode will be the last clone wars episode before the holidays, and will follow R2-D2, Colonel Gascon, and the other droids as their shuttle crash lands on a desolate planet after being hit by a comet.

The ragtag group of droids must then make their way across a bewildering expanse of emptiness in order to carry out their mission. “A Sunny Day in the Void,” will be airing this Saturday, December 8th at 9:30am ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

The clip shows the differently colored droids’ first time to step out of their damaged shuttle, only to come face to face with a vast what looks like an empty planet. This is followed by Artoo being Artoo, and setting out on his own, despite being ordered by Colonel Gascon to come back:

The series will be returning with new episodes starting on January 5, 2013. LucasFilm has also released a special featurette called “The Droids You’re Looking For,” which features The Clone Wars supervising director Dave Filoni discussing the droids of D-Squad: http://starwars.com/watch/secret-weapons-featurette.html
