Star Wars Resistance introduces lead characters in Team Fireball video

Lucasfilm Animation has started streaming a new video for its upcoming Star Wars Resistance animated series. Centred on the main cast of characters, viewers are introduced to Team Fireball, a racing team on station Colossus. They’re joined by new recruit Kazuda “Kaz” Xiono, an undercover Resistance pilot who’s been tasked with spying on the First Order as their threat grows. The video also highlights mechanics Jarek Yaeger and Tam Ryvora, alien/droid pals Neeku and Bucket.

The series acts as a prequel to 2015’s The Force Awakens, with characters like General Leia, Poe Dameron, and Captain Phasma. The voice cast includes Christopher Sean as Kaz, Scott Lawrence as Jarek, Suzie McGrath as Tam, Josh Brenner as Neeku, Rachel Butera as Leia, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, Bobby Moynihan as Orka, Myrna Velasco as Torra Doza, Donald Faison as Hype Fazon, and
Jim Rash as Flix.

Disney started streaming the show’s first trailer earlier this month:

Star Wars Resistance is animated by Polygon Pictures. The series was created by Lucasfilm Animation veteran Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels); executive-produced by Athena Portillo (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Justin Ridge (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) and Brandon Auman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles); and art-directed by Amy Beth Christenson (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels).

Star Wars Resistance was first announced the series back in April. The series will debut October 7th at 10PM on Disney Channel, DisneyNOW, and Disney Channel VOD, with later airings on Disney XD. The series will then roll out on Disney platforms internationally.
