Walt Disney Home Video will be releasing Tim Burton’s stop motion animated feature Frankenweenie this coming Tuesday, January 8th via 3D BD, BD, and DVD formats. Aside from the movie itself, the DVD edition will also contain a never before seen footage from the Frankenweenie touring exhibit, as well as the music video for Pet Sematary, which was originally from the Ramones and covered by the Plain White T’s for the movie.

The two-disc combo DVD/BD pack, on the other hand, will include a brand new short titled “Captain Sparky Vs. the Flying Saucers,” which has the eponymous dog being recruited as the pilot of a ship meant to fight an invading army of aliens. The combo pack also has a making-of featurette titled “Miniatures In Motion: Bringing Frankenweenie To Life,” and the original 1984 Frankenweenie short film.

The four disc DVD/Blu Ray combo will include all fhe content and extras from the two disc combo pack, but will include a 3D version of the film as well as a digital copy. The MSRPs for the pack are $29.99, $39.99, and $49.99 for the DVD, DVD/BD combo, and four disc DVD/BD combo, respectively.

Finding Nemo was originally released in theaters last 2003, treating viewers to the heartwarming tale of a young clown fish named Nemo, who was taken by a diver, and his father Marlin, who sets off on a cross-continent adventure in order to rescue his son, while being accompanied by a forgetful fish named Dory.

Based on one of the most famous classic Chinese stories, Journey to the West, the film follows the Monkey King Sun Wukong as he rebels against the Jade Emperor of Heaven.

Adventures of Tintin has Highest-ever opening for an Animated film in India

Sony Pictures India has recently announced that The Adventures of Tintin: The Secrets of the Unicorn’s opening weekend take in India is $1.46 million, making it the highest-ever for an animated film in the country. It also holds the same record for any Steven Spielberg film that opened in India. Tintin has beat DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda 2, which used to be the top grossing animated movie with an opening take of 55 million rupees (roughly $1 million). The Tintin film was also released with over 350 prints, another record breaking number for an animated film as per SPE’s estimates – in English and Hindi, which includes 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D formats.

Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products and SimEx-Iwerks, along with European theme park operator Merlin Entertainment is planning to launch a new theme park based on the Ice Age cg-animated movies. The Ice Age theme park will include the ‘Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs, The 4D Experience’ and is scheduled to launch in March 2012 at two of Merlin’s theme park resorts – namely Gardaland in Italy and Alton Towers in the UK, where the parks are slated to open for the season.
