This coming April 16, 2013, leading entertainment distributor Shout! Factory, in collaboration with EuropaCorp, is inviting kids and families across America to journey to a whimsical world of Parisian adventure and fantasy with the release of A Monster in Paris DVD and 2 disc Blu Ray 3D Combo packs. The packages will also include a digital copy of the movie, which is compatible with PC, MAC, iTunes, iPhones, and AppleTV.

A Monster in Paris follows a wacky inventor and his camera-crazy bestfriend, along with a madcap monkey as they cause a massive accident in a mad scientist’s laboratory, resulting in lotions and potions being spilled everywhere, particularly on a common flea named Franc, who mutated into a monstrous creature as a result. However, it turns out Franc is actually a soft-centered soul with a savant-level skill in music.

With the help of an enchanting nightclub singer named Lucille, Franc becomes the talk of the town, and just as stories of Paris’s newest monster attract the attention of the egotistical police commissioner, hell bent on securing a big prize to help his battle to become mayor. It is now up to the scientists and the singer to team up and protect Franc.

A Monster in Paris

A Monster in Paris

Paris, 1910. A terrifying creature spreads fear upon the Capital. Emile and Raoul, a shy movie projectionist and a colorful inventor, find themselves thrown into the Monster Hunt. On this wild ride, they meet a big-hearted cabaret singer, an eccentric scientist assisted by a monkey, a ruthless Prefect of Police, and a strange creature who might not be so frightening after all. What if, behind those deceiving appearances, the true Monster was not who you’d think it is? A great question, to be sure. But, what we can say for now, is that the upcoming animated film described above, A Monster in Paris, will star the voices of Adam Goldberg, Jay Harrington, Danny Huston, Bob Balaban, Catherine O’Hara, and Vanessa Paradis. No definitive debut date for the co-production between Europacorp, Bibi Films and France 3 Cinema… but like the Monster, you can rest assured it will sneak up on us!
