Zack Snyder Developing Non-Trilogy Star Wars Movie

Zack Snyder Developing Non-Trilogy Star Wars Movie

Contrary to what he earlier told the LA Times, Zack Snyder has now let it slip in a interview that he is currently developing a Star Wars project, but one that is not part of the new trilogy announced by new Lucasfilm owners, Disney.

According to rumors, Snyder’s untitled Star Wars project will be a Jedi epic that borrows from Akira Kurosawa’s 1950s classic Seven Samurai, which deals with a bandit-infested farm town in 16th century Japan that hires a ragtag group of ronin (master-less samurai) in order to defend their harvest from marauders. An insider notes that Snyder’s project will not be a “numbered” installment in the franchise, and will just be a stand alone installment set sometime after the events of Episode VI.
