Croatian Children’s Animation Program Scheduled for January 8

As part of the ongoing cultural exchange between the California Film Institute and Croatia, Čakovec, Croatia’s School of Animated Film co-director Bijelić Ljubić has accompanied three of her best students, Vedran Horvat, Eva Jalusic and Iva Ruzic (ages 12, 13 and 16), for a screening of recent works from the SAF.

The films that will be screened were animated by students in the 8 to 18 age range, and have already one numerous international prizes and exhibit deft observation and humor typical of adult animators in Eastern Europe. The films use various animation styles – from puppetry, to clay, cutouts, and even hand-drawn and computerized.
