Hoodwinked Too! on 3D Blu-ray & DVD August 16th

In 2005, Blue Yonder Films, Kanbar Entertainment, and The Weinstein Company brought Hoodwinked to theaters. Using classic fairy tales and folk lore to guide the story, the film stars Little Red Riding Hood, whose adventure stretches far beyond the Big Bad Wolf. With a monster success on their hands, the companies again teamed to release a sequel, Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil, on April 29th, 2011, in the now-standard 3D. Red (played by Hayden Panettiere, after Anne Hathaway) is training with the Sisters of the Hood. She must team with Wolf to rescue Granny, Hansel and Gretel from the evil witch, Verushka. What happens? How do things turn out? Do they all live happily ever after? Find out on August 16th, when Hoodwinked Too! comes home to 3D Blu-ray & DVD.

Fox and Blue Sky bring Rio to theaters

This weekend, Fox brings their latest CG animated effort to theaters with Rio. The Blue Sky Studios film is the sixth in their lineup, taking place (mostly) in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. Taking a distinctly musical path over the more comedic Ice Age movies, Rio is largely a love story about a rare blue Spix’s Macaw, conveniently named Blu, does what he can to impress Jewel, a female of the same rare species. Despite their different upbringing (Blu’s domestic life in the States and Jewel’s in the vibrant jungle) Fox promises a fun ride in bringing the two together. Best of all, the wait is over! As of April 15th, Rio is open Nationwide, just waiting for your review. Going this weekend?

Blue Sky Studios' Rio spreads wings during Super Bowl XLV

Super Bowl XLV would not have been complete without an updated teaser of Blue Sky Studios and 20th Century Fox’s April 15th film, Rio. Blu (voiced by Jesse Eisenberg) is a nerdy, cowardly, shy blue macaw, living at a bookstore in Moose Lake, Minnesota. …at least until scientists learn that this endangered species has a potential mate in South America. It’s there, in Rio de Janeiro, that Blu meets Jewel (voiced by Anne Hathaway — the soon-to-be Catwoman Selina Kyle) the only female blue macaw left. Unfortunately, the process of love isn’t as easy as the scientists would believe, and Blu must overcome his fears to win Jewel’s heart. Rafael the toucan (voiced by George Lopez) does his best to help things along, while Nigel the cockatoo (voiced by Jemaine Clement) does his best to prevent the situation, and bring every bird back to his poacher masters.
