Nickelodeon launches Team Umizoomi Math Zoom into Numbers app

Just this week, Nick continued to expanded their digital empire, one application at a time, with the arrival of Team Umizoomi’s newest app, Math: Zoom into Numbers. The math-based app features Team Umizoomi at their best, with all sortsa numbers! There are five games within the digital download, as well as an interactive map of Umi City, as well as an intricate reward system filled with badges and trophies to be collected and earned.

For those of you with an iPhone, iTouch, or iPad, you’re in for a great iChristmas iPresent! Nickelodeon is bringing their newest app, Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure, to each of those systems via the iTunes store. Based on the Christmas TV special of the same name, the application features interactive storytelling, mini-games, and all types of other fun you’d expect from Dora the Explorer. It’s time for Dora’s Christmas Eve Celebration, but Santa has caught Swiper trying to sneak off with the presents! Now, Swiper has just one more chance to get off Santa’s naughty list before Christmas. Take a ride in Santa’s sleigh with Dora and Swiper on this Christmas Adventure! You’ll need your shape, color, and pattern recognizing skills to help Swiper and Dora get all the presents delivered.

American Greetings Properties has big things planned for their sweet-smelling princess, Strawberry Shortcake. As 2010 marks the 30th anniversary for Strawberry Shortcake, we’ve already seen a resurgence in popularity – most notably in her brand new series on The Hub, Strawberry Shortcake’s Berry Bitty Adventures. But that’s not all, berry fans! We’ll also soon be getting an iPhone app and a three-pack of retro-styled doll collector set, which includes replicas of three original characters from the original 1980’s line; Strawberry Shortcake, Raspberry Tart, and Orange Blossom – each with its classic fruit scent. It might be her birthday, but it’s definitely us getting the presents!

PBS Kids brings Super Why to Apple's iPad

Apple’s latest tech crazy device, the iPad, has been out for a few months now, selling like hot cakes and driving everyone into an app-happy frenzy! Joining up on the downloadable band wagon, PBS Kids hopes to launch a number of new applications on the platform, giving kids a reason to sign up and play. First up in the new batch is the Super Why! app in iTunes. Developed as part of the PBS Kids Raising Readers initiative, the $3 app is based on the Out of the Blue Enterprises series, with a number of interactive games using art from the CG animated toon.

Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products recently released a new SpongeBob SquarePants app called SpongeBob’s Krusty Komics. The application features digitized comics and even a few games, all featuring your favorite yellow and porous under-sea friend. Immediately upon grabbing the app from iTunes, you get a game and a comic, with access to others, and promise of even more to come in the future.
