Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Returns Tonight

Fans of Nickelodeon’s latest take on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise should be glad to know that the hit animated series will be returning tonight, at 8:00 PM ET/PT, for new episodes from its 2nd action-and-hilarity-packed season. They seem to have started early on the Halloween-themed episodes, though. The new episode is titled “A Chinatown Ghost Story” and will star Donnie.

In “A Chinatown Ghost Story,” Donnie grows increasingly jealous of April and Casey’s relationship so he finds it the perfect opportunity when April is kidnapped by an evil spirit that wants to drain her of her powers.

After A Chinatown Ghost Story, fans can continue watching Nickelodeon every Friday for new episodes, until the season concludes via a special one-hour long finale on Friday, September 26.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Introduces New Character

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Introduces New Character

The most recent episode of Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, titled “New Girl in Town,” introduced a new female character that may end up giving April a run for her money, and may end up doing the same to the Turtles.

Voiced by famous actress Kelly Hu, the character is named “Karai” and is a 16 year old rebellious teenager and trained ninja. The episode finds Leonardo getting fed up with Raphael’s constant criticism and allows his brother to become the group’s leader for a while. The conflict between the turtles seems to have occurred in the worst time possible as Leonardo also meets the beautiful and dangerous kunoichi, Karai, and is lured to the dark side.

This week’s episode of Nickelodeon’s massively successful reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles further proves that you can update the franchise and make it relevant to current mainstream culture without turning the Turtles into aliens.

Titled “New Friend, Old Enemy,” the episode follows April as she introduces Mikey to a social networking site. In order to prove that the Turtles can be friends with humans, Michelangelo uses the site to befriend a famous martial artist named Chris Bradford, who is actually working as Shredder’s top undercover lieutenant. With the help of a street brawler named Xever, Bradford manages to turtlenap Mikey and uses him as a means to find the Turtles’ lair.
