New Green Lantern: The Animated Series Clips - Love is a Battlefield

Warner Bros. has just released a couple of new clips and a bunch of images for this week’s episode of Green Lantern: The Animated Series, titled “Love is a Battlefield.” The episode (which bears the same title as a Pat Benatar song) looks to be the show’s tribute to Valentines, as it deals with a subject familiar to all of us: Love. Except in the Green Lantern universe, the power of love isn’t always positive especially when wielded by a Zamaron, or when influencing an evil supercomputer.

In “Love is a Battlefield,” the evil Aya Monitor invaded the planet Zamaron by herself, blaming the Star Sapphires for the pain she feels from her heartbreak. Carol Ferris is once again summoned in order to represent Love in a battle against the champion of Hate: Red Lantern’s Atrocitus. You can check out the clips and images below:

Meanwhile, Hal must take a shortcut back to Earth by teleporting across the universe from the Star Sapphires’ homeworld of Zamora, so that he can stop Atrocitus and Zilius Zox from destroying Oa and killing the Guardians.

Hal Jordan as Green Lantern: The Animated Series on Cartoon Network

Hal Jordan as Green Lantern: The Animated Series on Cartoon Network

Hal Jordan and Kilowog have their hands full against the combined forces of Atrocitus, the Red Lanterns, and the Manhunters. Good thing those hands are fueled with the Green Lantern Power Rings! Kilowog is always there to offer guidance to the Green Lantern of Sector 2814, which he hopes will at least keep Hal a little grounded as a Green Lantern. But living a double life as a pilot, Jordan is anything but “grounded!” This is the complexity Cartoon Network hopes to introduce with Green Lantern: The Animated Series, premiering in just a few short weeks. With other characters from the DC Comics comic book rounding out the cast, like Carol Ferris, Salaak, Sayd, Saint Walker, and Zilius Zox, it looks like we’re due for some awesome adventures! You ready? Brightest Day?
