While there’s still no official announcement from either DreamWorks or AwesomenessTV, some industry insiders are already reporting that “two people familiar with the matter” have already confirmed that DreamWorks is in talks to acquire the teens/tweens-targeted Youtube channel, with the main goal being to further expand their media presence.

AwesomenessTV was the pet project of TV And film producer Brian Robbins, who launched the digital network in June last year hoping to carve into the new generation of young viewers who are watching less live TV in favor of more online content. The channel is currently boasting of more than half a million subscribers, who all tune in to the channel due to its mix of original sketch comedies, game shows, sports programs, and lifestyle shows. The network managed to receive $3.5 million in funding shortly after its debut.
