More Details About Dragon Ball Xenoverse Announced

Bandai Namco Games has recently revealed more details about the upcoming fighting game Dragon Ball Xenoverse, mostly regarding the roster. First is that they will have both Beerus and Whis, the antagonists from the last DBZ movie, Battle of Gods. Next, they also revealed that fans can expect massive boss battles, one of which is against the Great Ape Vegeta. Those of you who are still playing Budokai Tenkaichi 3 on the Wii or PS2 (still an awesome game, right?) will be glad to know that it’s a properly scaled Great Ape now.

Beerus and Whis will be part of the Story Mode, and due to the story being primarily about time travel, it was suggested that the events from Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods can be changed depending on the user’s actions. You can also check out some screenshots showing off the Great Ape Vegeta in action:

V-Jump Features Movie Visual for Dragon Ball Z – Revival of F

After the success of Battle of Gods (and because of its open-ended nature), it is not surprising that 2015 will see another Dragon Ball Z movie titled “Revival of F.” The January issue of V-Jump contains a visual for said film, and aside from the reveal that the F in the title is for Freeza, it also features a few things worth noting.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods Behind The Scenes

Now that Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods Extended Edition has been released (on Blu-Ray/DVD!), FUNimation is starting to release a few promo videos designed to further entice fans to get one off the shelves. The latest one is a behind the scenes featurette showing the voice actors for Goku and Beerus doing their work.

Of course, since the scene they chose to feature consists of Goku and Beerus having a shouting match, you’ll get to see the voice actors scream at each other off the top of their lungs as well. It’s honestly an entertaining scene even though you kind of worry about their vocal chords (they’re professionals, kids. Don’t try it at home.)

FUNimation’s official description of the movie:

Director for Next Dragon Ball Z Film Confirmed

After the recent reveal that there’s a new Dragon Ball Z anime film slated for 2015, details are slowly starting to trickle regarding the inner workings of the film. We still don’t have concrete info on the story (other than it’s going to be a new story that will continue the manga, instead of a sequel for Battle of Gods), but dragon Ball community site Kanzenshuu.com has revealed that the film now has a director: Tadayoshi Yamamuro.

New Dragon Ball Z Movie Scheduled for 2015

Despite the ending (won’t spoil anything, but it’s pretty much a cop-off), the latest Dragon Ball Z anime movie, Battle of Gods, still managed to do well in terms of profit and fan reception, probably owing to the fact that Toriyama has had a more active input and it effectively retconned a large part of the universally maligned GT away. So it’s not surprising that they are willing to give it another go, with the September issue of V Jump announcing that a new Dragon Ball Z anime movie is slated to debut in the 2015 Golden Week block of spring holidays (April 29 to May 5).

A new trailer has just been released for Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z, showing off new footages and shining a spotlight on some of the more impressive changes in the 3D fighting game.

One of the more welcome additions is an up-to-date character roster, which includes the antagonist from this year’s Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods movie, the god of destruction Bills. Additionally, Goku will be able to go into Super Saiyan God mode, which is a new transformation revealed in Battle of Gods (one that uses 5 Saiyans with pure hearts to transform another Saiyan into a ‘god’ with power levels that dwarf even a Super Saiyan 3.)
