Planes director Klay Hall comes from a family immersed in aviation with a father and grandfather who were pilots in the armed forces. In this touching clip, he shares his passion for flying vintage planes with his own two sons:

ToonBarn’s Marc Morrell was lucky enough to get some time to talk to the Director of Planes, Klay Hall. In this exclusive interview, Klay Hall talks about vintage airplanes, how important it is to be authentic, how they decided to film the flying scenes, and much more.

Carlos Alazraqui, El Chupacabra on Planes, in a ToonBarn Interview

Carlos Alazraqui is not shy when it comes to sharing his vast array of voices from the characters he has played over the years. As he says in our Exclusive ToonBarn Interview, “you almost have to announce the things you do, even with people that know you,” to continue to work successfully as a voice-over actor.

His character on Planes, El Chupacabra, is also not shy. Carlos describes El Chupacabra as “a lovable character” that “has a samurai spirit”, with respect for his competitors. He is the only race participant to befriend Dusty, and as a result, they help each other in many ways. Despite his outwardly macho and flirtatious personality, El Chupacabra has a softer side, which we eventually see.

Here is a clip from the first time Dusty meets El Chupacabra:

Mickey’s Christmas Carol Comes To Blu-ray

Christmas has always been a wonderful time of the year for my family. I carry warm memories of December days spent trimming the tree and watching TV specials until bedtime. One of my fondest recollections involves watching Mickey’s Christmas Carol, and Disney recently made me a very happy girl by releasing it on Blu-ray. Along with the Blu-ray, you also get a DVD version and a digital copy. The digital copy allows you to watch the movie on your tablet or other device while you travel or otherwise spend time away from home. I never use digital copies, but it’s something nice to have for the future.

Mickey’s Christmas Carol is exactly what you’d expect – a Disney adaptation of the story known for generations and retold in countless ways. Scrooge McDuck plays – wait for it – Ebenezer Scrooge, with Donald Duck as his nephew and Mickey Mouse as Ebenezer’s underpaid assistant Bob Cratchit. Goofy makes an appearance as Jacob Marley, and other characters leave their marks in some form if you keep your eyes sharp. It’s hard to go wrong with such a cast. While it does have its flaws, I think it’s something that any Christmas lover should add to their collection or watch at least once when they get a chance.
