New Clips from Finding Nemo

New Clips from Finding Nemo

We’re only a couple or so weeks away from the Blu Ray and Blu Ray 3D release of Finding Nemo 3D, which should be the perfect gift during the holidays, as Finding Nemo’s beautiful rendering of Nemo, Dory, and Marlin’s undersea adventures is one of the few CG animated movies that must be really seen in full HD glory (something that only a Blu Ray disc is capable of doing outside of the theaters).

Finding Nemo Swims Into Blu-Ray on December

This coming December 4, 2012, Disney/Pixar’s Finding Nemo will be making its way in breathtaking HD and 3D to home screens just in time for the holidays. This marks the first time the Oscar Award-winning underwater adventure will appear in HD Blu Ray, Blu Ray 3D, and Digital platforms.

Finding Nemo was originally released in theaters last 2003, treating viewers to the heartwarming tale of a young clown fish named Nemo, who was taken by a diver, and his father Marlin, who sets off on a cross-continent adventure in order to rescue his son, while being accompanied by a forgetful fish named Dory.

Disney/Pixar’s Brave Released on DVD/Blu Ray

Disney/Pixar’s Brave Released on DVD/Blu Ray

Disney fans who were waiting for a new kick-butt Disney princess that can do so much more than just wait for a Prince Charming to come and save the day were placated by Pixar last June with the release of Brave, which tells the story of a bond between a fiery little princess from the Highlands of Scotland, her need to prove herself, and her bond with her mother. No fancy balls, no prince charming, no glass slippers. There’s a witch and a curse, though. As well as an ancient, evil bear spirit-something.

Now, people who missed the movie first time around, or want to own it on home video will be glad to know that Disney/Pixar have just released Brave last November 13, 2012 as a 5 disc Ultimate collector’s Edition Blu Ray, a 3 Disc Collector’s edition Blu Ray, and as a 1 Disc DVD. Besides an HD version of the movie that you can play anytime and anywhere you want (provided that you have a Blu Ray player), the DVD set will also contain the home video debut of “La Luna”, which was the animated short that accompanied Brave in the theaters, and “The Legend of Mor’du”.

Here are some preview clips from the Brave home video collection:

Toonbarn Contest: Secret of the Wings Giveaway!

Toonbarn Contest: Secret of the Wings Giveaway!

It’s Toonbarn contest time again!

Here at Toonbarn, we’re always in a giving mood. If it were up to us, we’d give away free stuff every day. Every second! You can just go to our house, knock on our doors and we’d be giving you stuff for FREE. I don’t care about the recession. If recession comes to my doorstep I’d shake its hand and give it stuff for free, because that’s the kind of guy I am and that’s the kind of website Toonbarn is. We’re givers, not takers.

It just so happens that we don’t always have stuff that you’d want lying around the house unless you want free pocket lint and gum wrappers. We have tons of those because that’s what we eat right now, due to the recession and stuff.

Fortunately for you and for me and the entire human race, Walt Disney is kind enough to provide a buncha Secret of the Wings loot as prizes for a new Toonbarn contest, which I have dubbed – The Toonbarn Secret of the Wings Giveaway! (this is the part where you imagine confetti bursting out of your screen).

The secret wings contest prizes

The way the contest goes is that one lucky Toonbarn Reader will win the following:

  • 1 copy of the Secret of the Wings Flitterrific 4-disc combo pack (3D Blu-ray/Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Download)
  • 1 pair of wings
  • 1 Secret of the Wings zipper pull
  • 1 fairy-sized Secret of the Wings storybook pamphlet
  • All you have to do to win the sweet bunch of loot above is:

Walt Disney Relaunches Cinderella with Diamond Edition Blu Ray

Walt Disney Relaunches Cinderella with Diamond Edition Blu Ray

Walt Disney has recently decided to bring one of their timeless classics, Cinderella, out of the vault, update her a little bit for a new generation of kids, and re-release her on Blu-Ray this coming October 2nd. By “update”, I don’t mean the House of Mouse has rebooted the franchise or turned the movie into CG 3D or any other nonsense. Disney has done all of us a favor and preserved every single thing that made the original Cinderella movie one of the most beautiful and memorable animated films in their library.

Disney updated Cinderella for the modern audience simply by putting a lot of effort into remastering the original 1950s classic – no dust or grains due to old age here, you get to see the film the way the original animators want you to, and the way you were meant to.

THE RESCUERS (35TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION)/THE RESCUERS DOWN UNDER – 2 MOVIE COLLECTION

THE RESCUERS (35TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION)/THE RESCUERS DOWN UNDER – 2 MOVIE COLLECTION

With the release of THE RESCUERS (35TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION)/THE RESCUERS DOWN UNDER – 2 MOVIE COLLECTION, it’s apparent that Disney has picked up the habit of re-releasing remastered Blu-rays of their 2D classics by squeezing originals and their sequel in one combo pack. Not that we’re complaining. Getting two movies in one buy is always a good thing. But one possible reason they’ve done this is that the sequels included weren’t as popular the originals, and wouldn’t justify their own re-release. This seems to be the case with the Pocahontas 2 movie collection that’s been released a couple of days ago, and it seems to be the case this time around with The Rescuers.
