Nickelodeon’s CatDog to DVD in CatDog: Season One from Shout Factory

Nickelodeon's CatDog to DVD in CatDog: Season One from Shout Factory

From 1998 until about 2004, Nickelodeon was all about Cats and Dogs, living together in harmony. Or, a single CatDog living together in … well, in the same body. A creation of Peter Hannan, CatDog tells the story of conjoined brothers, one half cat and one half dog, whose adventures filled years of comedy on Nickelodeon, a made-for-TV movie called CatDog: The Great Parent Mystery, and later, Nicktoons. Due to their somewhat odd look (two heads, no butts!) CatDog are outcasts in Nearburg. There, everyone from their mousey neighbor Winslow, to the Greaser Dogs has a problem with them. Through every odd adventure, however, the pair remains best of friends – a lesson Shout Factory has perfectly captured in the first season of the toon on DVD, CatDog Season One. Dragon's Lair: The Complete Series from Warner Archive, Hanna-Barbera

When Dragon’s Lair first appeared in arcades all those years ago, gamers were blown away. Even by today’s standards, the attention to detail in the nearly 30 year old game was astonishing, featuring some of the very best animation from the legendary Don Bluth. Shortly after the video game rose to popularity, Joey Ruby and Ken Spears put together a Dragon’s Lair cartoon series staring Dirk the Daring, Singe the Dragon, Bertram the horse, Timothy the squire, and the seemingly never-ending quest for Dirk’s beloved Princess Daphne across King Ethelred’s kingdom. Now, Warner Bros. and Warner Archive’s Hanna-Barbera Collection have gathered all 13 episodes of the original series in a two-disc DVD compilation called Dragon’s Lair: The Complete Series, available September 20th. Winnie the Pooh brings honey to Disney Blu-ray and DVD on October 25th

Several months ago, when the summer was still new, Disney brought an old favorite back to theaters, with a new Winnie the Pooh adventure. In the past decade, computer animated projects have completely reinvented, and dominated, the field of animation – but Disney bucked that trend with 2011’s Winnie the Pooh, letting the iconic presentation speak for itself and pay tribute to its past. As hope, A.A. Milne’s characters never looked better, from Tigger, to Rabbit, to Piglet, Owl, Kanga, Roo, Christopher Robin, and most of all, Winnie the Pooh. On October 25th, Disney hopes to duplicate that nostalgic boon, bringing the film home to Blu-ray and DVD Combo Packs. The Ultimate Weapon is M.A.S.K. The Complete Original Series

The Ultimate Weapon is M.A.S.K. The Complete Original Series

That’s right, it’s a flying car. As far as I’m concerned, this shouldn’t be an animation at this point – it’s 2011, where’s my real-life flying car! At least I know the folks behind M.A.S.K. understood where I’m coming from! Thankfully, the folks at Hasbro and Shout! Factory do, as well, as they’ve teamed together to release M.A.S.K. The Complete Original Series on DVD. Not only is the series chock full of really cool adventures and some great animation, there’s a high number of scenes with flying cars. Don’t believe me? Check out the screen gallery right here, and see for yourself!
