Blue Sky Studios' Rio spreads wings during Super Bowl XLV

Super Bowl XLV would not have been complete without an updated teaser of Blue Sky Studios and 20th Century Fox’s April 15th film, Rio. Blu (voiced by Jesse Eisenberg) is a nerdy, cowardly, shy blue macaw, living at a bookstore in Moose Lake, Minnesota. …at least until scientists learn that this endangered species has a potential mate in South America. It’s there, in Rio de Janeiro, that Blu meets Jewel (voiced by Anne Hathaway — the soon-to-be Catwoman Selina Kyle) the only female blue macaw left. Unfortunately, the process of love isn’t as easy as the scientists would believe, and Blu must overcome his fears to win Jewel’s heart. Rafael the toucan (voiced by George Lopez) does his best to help things along, while Nigel the cockatoo (voiced by Jemaine Clement) does his best to prevent the situation, and bring every bird back to his poacher masters. Sure, he happens to be the most awesome person of all time, but still. One day, he’ll either be too old, or simply want to retire. Like, say, if he married Catwoman and was busy raising their son Damian. That’s the scenario Cartoon Network is offering in tonight’s Batman: The Brave and the Bold. The episode, entitled The Knights of Tomorrow” tells the story of Dick Grayson, evolving from Robin to Nightwing to taking over the role of Batman. Toon in tonight at 7:30pm to see how the DC Comics characters react when the Joker resurfaces!

Riddler to battle the Dark Knight in the next Batman film

Riddler to battle the Dark Knight in the next Batman film

As work gets underway for the newest movie installment in the Batman franchise, much speculation is running rampant on who the villain of the story will be. Between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, so far we’ve seen; Ra’s al Ghul, Two-Face, the Joker, mobsters Carmine Falcone and Salvatore Maroni, Mr. Zsasz, and the Scarecrow to name a few. The bad guys leading the rumor pack are Catwoman, the Penguin, and the Riddler. A recent report suggests that director Christopher Nolan has already made his choice: selecting Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who stars in Nolan’s Inception, to play The Riddler. This, in no way, is 100% confirmed, and as now should only be treated as a rumor, but to pose a riddle to you — what would you think of this casting?
