Pip Ahoy! Sails to Channel 5’s Milkshake in June

Cosgrove Hall Fitzpatrick Entertainment’s much awaited children’s animated series, Pip Ahoy!, will be making its way to Channel 5’s Milkshake this coming June 12. The series will consist of 52 x 11 episodes that focus on the adventures of an eager happy-go-lucky young pup named Pip, along with his best friend Alba the Kitten as they go on exciting and colorful adventures in the enchanting seaside resort of Salty Cove.

Pip Ahoy! Is being produced in the UK via CHF’s new state-of-the-art studio in Didsbury, Manchester. The series boasts of a voice cast list that includes Sir David Jason (Danger Mouse, Count Duckula, Wind in The Willows), Teresa Gallagher (The Amazing World of Gumball, Octonauts, Noddy), Emma Tate (Moshi Monsters , Horrid Henry,The Jungle Book series) and Jimmy Hibbert (Danger Mouse, Roary the Racing Car and Toby’s Travelling Circus).

Channel 5's Greatest Kids TV Shows Gives Bagpuss Top Rank

Coolabi and Smallfilms have jointly announced that UK’s Channel 5 has voted Bagpuss as the third greatest kids TV program, as well as the highest ranking character-based show of all time on their “Greatest Kids TV Shows” programming event, which aired last November 8th. The Greatest Kids TV Shows was a nostalgic countdown of the 50 best British kids’ TV series over the past 60 years.

Toot the Tiny Tugboat Sails to Channel 5


Channel 5 has recently commissioned 52 x 11 minute episodes of a new animated series for 4 to 7 year olds titled Toot the Tiny Tugboat. The colorful series, which is adapted from the bok Toot and Pop by Sebastien Braun and HarperCollins, will be airing on Channel 5’s Milkshake programming block by 2014/15.

Toot the Tiny Tugboat focuses on the aquatic adventures of the titular tug, who is just in his first year of service in the busy waters of the Harbor. Toot’s job is to lead big boats into the Harbour and back out to the sea, along with dragging barges inland along canals, rescuing ships in distress, and helping out with other miscellaneous tasks like fighting fires and doing construction work. Unfortunately, Toot’s inexperience usually leads to mixups and slip ups. The series will let kids learn how to be responsible with their mistakes as Toot tries to rectifies his own mistakes with his trademark shout of ‘Heave Ho! Let’s Go!

The Wombles Returns to Channel 5


The UK’s Channel 5 will see the return of Wimbledon Common’s Wombles via a new batch (52 x 11) of shorts that focus on the lovable litter-pickers. The shorts will be premiering on Channel 5’s Milkshake preschool block in 2015. The original characters were created by Elisabeth Beresfored and were initially introduced to the viewing public in 1973, followed by a revival on ITV in 1998.

Slugterra Premieres on the UK’s Channel 5


As part of a new deal struck by Channel 5 and Nerd Corps, the new animated action comedy series Slugterra has recently premiered on Channel 5 in the UK, fresh off the series’ successful premiere on Disney XD last March. There are currently 39 x 22 minute episodes available for the series, but more has been promised.
In support of SlugTerra, Jakks Pacific has launched a new product line consisting of blasters, dart packs, and collectible slug figures launched at Smyth’s, Toys”R”Us and The Entertainer, along with additions to the toy line in fall/winter 2013. Smyth’s are also on-air sponsors for the series on Disney XD.
