Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL Gameplay from Comic Con 2011

Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL Gameplay from Comic Con 2011

Not that long ago, Cartoon Network teamed with Papaya Studio and Crave Entertainment to bring Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion to the Nintendo 3DS. The general premise was awesome: take a dozen or so iconic characters from the network’s lineup (Ben 10, Chowder, Dexter, Samurai Jack, etc.) and have them square off in a fighter like Super Smash Bros. Well, now, thanks to some great footage from New York Comic Con 2011, we see that development has really come on strong for the home edition, Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL, out soon for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii. Take a look at the game in action right here!

A few weeks back, ToonBarn teased the story of Cartoon Network’s upcoming fighting game Punch Time Explosion, that followed in the footsteps of TMNT Fighters and Super Smash Bros. by pitting 18 CN’s characters against one another. (Coincidentally, just days ago, ToonBarn broke with the story about Nickelodeon’s Super Brawl 2 — these toons must all hate each other!!). Now, as we get closer to the June 7th release date of Cartoon networks up-and-coming fighting game, made exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS (which, again coincidentally, ToonBarn is GIVING AWAY FOR FREE), Crave Entertainment and Papaya Studios are releasing a bit more info on the game. Check out the teaser trailer!

Bin Weevils scores big with Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network

Bin Weevils scores big with Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network

One of the coolest aspects about TV today is Video on Demand becoming more and more available. This means, just like looking something up on the internet (even sweet sites like ToonBarn!) you can now tell your TV what you want to watch, and your TV has to listen to you. No fighting, no talking back, it just spits out the content for your entertainment. Bin Weevils is new to the VOD game, but started off in the perfect way, adding tons of shows from Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. This means direct access to lots of toons like Ben 10, SpongeBob SquarePants, The Secret Saturdays, Chowder, iCarly and more. And Bin Weevils isn’t done there! The company plans to add more content from popular cartoon sources, including Cake Entertainment and Decode. What would be on your perfect Video on Demand network?

Ben 10, Ed Edd & Eddy, Chowder, Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls and more to the Philippines

Well, that is the torment that many in the Philippines have had to endure for far too long – but that nightmare is over. Finally, local station TV5 has signed a deal with Turner Content Solutions to bring so many of the Cartoon Network classics to the Tagalong-speaking channel. The toons will march in, starting October 18th, airing 20 hours every week. We’re talking Batman: The Brave and the Bold, My Gym Partner’s Monkey, League of Super Evil, Ed, Edd & Eddy, and so many more.

Cartoon Network says farewell to Chowder in Chowder Grows Up

Cartoon Network says farewell to Chowder in Chowder Grows Up

For nearly three years and 49 episodes, Chowder has made an impact on the animated world. During its run, the Cartoon Network series, created by C. H. Greenblatt, has made everyone in, and out, of Marzipan City proud. Unfortunately, like Batman the Brave and the Bold, the Chowder series recently announced an ending, pegging last week as it’s last episode. Though the finale will air again and again, the 30 minute “Chowder Grows Up” left fans laughing at the good times, but fondly (and perhaps tearfully) saying good bye. 20 years in the future, Chowder is still reluctant to grow up & leave his immature ways behind. He takes the responsibility of training his own apprentice and being a master chef cause everyone he loves will be unable to move on with their lives if he does not. Chowder selects a turtle apprentice, And in the end, and has 50 babies with Panini. Check out a clip of the finale, and let us know your favorite Chowder moments!

Are you a fan? And if so, have you been around since the beginning, or are you new to the show?
