Comedy Central Orders Animated Series Based on @DadBoner Twitter Feed

According to a recent report, Comedy Central has recently ordered a pilot for an animated series based on the popular Twitter feed @DadBoner, which is about a fictional user from Michigan named Karl Welzein, who frequently tweets about his life as a struggling middle-aged man from middle America, filtered through a lens that consists of beer, burgers, and patriotism.

Comedy Central Offers First Glimpse at Moonbeam City

Comedy Central has just released a new video featurette designed to provide a first glimpse at their new mature-audiences animated comedy, Moonbeam City. The series is described as a cop show spoof that focuses on one Detective Dazzle Novak, who is the stereotypical male that lets the contents of his boxers do all the thinking. The show will put Novak at odds with his supervisor Chief Pizzaz Miller, who’s on a futile quest to get the detective to do actual police work.

Hulu Scores Exclusive South Park Deal

Not to be outdone by Netflix, Hulu has recently bolstered its offerings by scoring a multiyear exclusive deal for the extremely popular Comedy Central series South Park. Under the deal, Hulu will be making all 17 seasons of the series available for free to specific regions until the premiere of season 18 on September 24. After the start of the new episodes, Hulu Plus subscribers will be getting access to the entire South Park library as new episodes are made available on the next day via Hulu and Hulu Plus.

Comedy Central Greenlights Bento Box’s Legends

According to a recent report from, Comedy Central has just greenlighted Bento Box Entertainment’s animated comedy series Legends, which marks the first original series pick-up since Mike Clements was tapped to head the new Creative Development and Original Programming Division last year.

This is not Bento Box’s first dealings with Comedy Central, as the studio is also responsible for the animation on the cabler’s animated comedy series Brickleberry. The studio’s other works include Bob’s Burgers on Fox and The Awesomes for Hulu.

Futurama Will End with a Live-Stream Chat

We’re only days away from the dreaded yet much-awaited Futurama season finale. Fortunately for fans, the creators refuse to let the long-running animated sci-fi series to go out with a whimper, as they will be capping off the franchise with pre and post-show live stream chats on September 4 (the final episode itself will air at 10 PM)

Dubbed “Futurama Live!,” the chats with creator Matt Groening and executive producer David X. Cohen will start at 9:30 EST / 6:30 PST via Comedy Central’s Futurama page ( as well as the Nerdist Youtube channel. Groening and Cohen will be joined by moderator Chris Hardwick (of Nerdist) as well as voice cast members Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Phil LaMarr, and Lauren Tom.

Season 2 of Brickleberry Premieres Next Month


The highly dysfunctional group of forest rangers in Comedy Central’s animated comedy series Brickleberry will be returning for a second season this coming September 3, at 10:30 PM. Produced by Daniel Tosh and Waco O’Guin and Roger Black, the season will consist of 13 hilarious and never before seen episodes. The season will kick off after the fall premiere of Daniel Tosh’s Tosh.0.
