New Extended Clip for Star Wars Rebels

Disney and LucasFilm are intent on drumming up buzz for the upcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels, and those who are lucky enough to attend Comic-Con will be treated to a preview screening of the first episode. But for fans unlucky enough to be stuck at home or in another country, we have an extended preview clip to keep us company until the premiere of the series itself:

The Heroes of Star Wars Rebels Will Be Making Their Way to San Diego Comic-Con

The premiere of Lucasfilm’s highly anticipated animated series, Star Wars Rebels, is still a long ways off, but fans will be able to catch a big sneak peek at the San Diego Comic-Con via their special panel, The Heroes of Star Wars Rebels, on Thursday, July 24, 6pm to 7pm at Room 6BCF. The panel will feature executive producer Dave Filoni along with the first panel appearance of the show’s executive producer Simon Kinberg and stars Freddie Prinze Jr., Vanessa Marshall, Steve Blum, Tiya Sircar, and Taylor Gray. The panel will feature discussions about making the show and will debut several exclusive reveals for the fans in attendance.

After talking to Jay Oliva (Director of Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox) for a little while, you get the sense that behind the filmmaker face he shows most of the time, there is a raging DC Fanboy underneath. As we saw in the interviews with Nathan Fillion in our first story for Flashpoint Paradox Week on ToonBarn, he was a fan BEFORE he became a participant. The same is true with Jay Oliva. They had all been introduced to this DC Universe when they were kids, reading comics, watching cartoons, having imaginary battles between heroes and villains, and have now matured into adults that can create new stories for these amazing characters.

He’s the man of a million accents. He’s a very versatile actor, and an even better coach and tutor to hundreds of other actors. He spent the first 12 years of his career working in Theatre in London, honing his craft. Then, in 2001, he got the role of Luigi Vampa in The Count of Monte Cristo, playing an Italian Pirate. His career has taken off since then, branching off into hundreds of roles in animation, video games, TV, Theatre and movies, as well as the occasional commercial and documentary voice-overs.
