Nelvana Gets New Licensees for Franklin and Friends

Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana has recently added two new licensing agents for their hit preschool property Franklin and Friends. German-speaking territories will be handled by Euro Lizenzen while Turkish territories will be handled by FILMA. Both Euro Lizenzen and FILMA will be at the upcoming Licensing Expo in Las Vegas this month in order to present Franklin and Friends along with their other respective licenses.

Justin Time Gets New Sales Across Europe

Guru Studio has recently struck several new European deals for their popular animated preschool series Justin Time. The new sales come fresh off the heels of the series recent win at the 2014 Canadian Screen Award, as Best Preschool Program. Additionally, the show has also received nominations for a Daytime Emmy and six Annie Awards. The show is currently licensed in over 75 countries worldwide.

Bubble Guppies Takes Top Honor for Outstanding Preschool Animated Program

Corus Entertainment’s hit preschool series Bubble Guppies has recently taken part in the Daytime Emmy Award, winning in the category of Outstanding Preschool Animated Program for its second season. The 40th Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy® Awards was held last Friday evening in downtown LA, where various TV productions in the Daytime genre are honored.

Bubble Guppies is currently airing its third season in Nickelodeon, as well as in Canada’s #1 preschool network Treehouse. The CG animated series follows a group of diverse preschoolers with colorful fish tails who go on adventures discovering their world.

Nelvana Partners with the Tornante Company and Topps for Mysticons

Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Enterprises and brand marketer of sports and entertainment cards Topps have recently entered into a partnership in order to produce and develop a new boys action series titled Mysticons.

Mysticons (26 x 22) is an animated series targeted towards kids aged 6 to 11 and produced by Nelvana Studio and written by veteran kids series writer Sean Jara (RedaKai, Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5, The League of Super Evil, Naturally Sadie).

Michael D. Eisner, who founded The Tornante Company, a privately held company that invests in, acquires, and operates companies in media and entertainment, acquired The Topps Company in 2007.
