Top 5 Jedi/Sith from Star Wars

Top 5 Jedi/Sith from Star Wars

We haven’t had a list-type post for quite some time now, so I felt like doing one. I was originally going to title this as Top 5 Characters, but then my personal bias reared its ugly head and I ended up with nothing but force users on the list, so instead of trying to squeeze in non-force sensitives just to make the list well-rounded, I just went with a jedi/sith-oriented list (that I liked. I should have added that one.)

A new preview clip has been released for this week’s episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, titled “The Lawless,” which is scheduled to air this coming Saturday, February 2nd at 9:30 am ET/PT on the Cartoon Network.

In “The Lawless,” we draw ever closer to a conclusive confrontation between Obi-Wan and Darth Maul as the latter uses the Duchess Satine as bait in order to lure the Jedi general into a trap. Afterwards, Maul declares himself the true Sith Lord, which could be a problem, as there’s already a Sith Lord watching from the sidelines.

New Star Wars: The Clone Wars Clip - Shades of Reason

LucasFilm has just released two new teaser clips for this week’s episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, titled “Shades of Reason,” where things start to build up as Pre Vizla and Darth Maul, with the backing of the Hutts and an army of the galaxy’s most vicious criminals (including the Death Watch, Black Sun, and the Pykes), begin their attack on the planet of Mandalore. However, the conquest seems a little bit strained due to the tenuous alliance between the Sith and the Dark Watch.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Returns with a New Clip – Revival

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Returns with a New Clip – Revival

The hit CG animated Star Wars spin-off, The Clone Wars, will be returning this Saturday, Sept 29 at 9:30am, and to give you an idea on what to expect, a gallery of images and a couple of preview clips from the season premiere were released online.

The Season Five premiere episode is titled ‘Revival’, and will pick up where the season four finale left off, with Darth Maul and Savage Opress reunited and hellbent on revenge. They went on a galaxy-spanning quest to spread terror, forcibly recruiting Hondo and his pirates along the way as they invade planet after planet, on their way to bring the fight to the Jedi. Brave Jedi try to curtail the brothers’ reign of terror, only to realize that they’d have to fight for their lives instead.

ToonBarn Interview: Michael Price for LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out

Darth Maul's 8-Blade Lightsaber from LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out

Last week, on ToonBarn, I told you about LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out, a new 30-minute TV Special on Cartoon Network, airing this Wednesday, September 26, at 8 PM ET, and we showed you a preview, courtesy of StarWars.com.

This week, you have a special treat. I was given an opportunity, and approval from Lucasfilm, to interview Michael Price, the Writer and Executive Producer for LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out. You may have seen some of Michael Price’s previous work as well. He wrote the last LEGO Star Wars Special from last year, The Padawan Menace, and he has been a writer for The Simpsons for more than 10 years now. LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace debuted on July 7, 2011, and was released on DVD/Blu-Ray on September 16, 2011. The Simpsons (24th season!!) premiere episode, “Moonshine River”, airs this Sunday, September 30 at 8 PM ET on FOX.

To prepare you for what you’re in for when you see LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out, this is NOT a sequel to The Padawan Menace, but a new story set in the Star Wars Original Trilogy time period after the first Death Star is destroyed. This is also considered a Non-Canon special, which means that anything that occurs in this special does not become part of the SWEU (Star Wars Expanded Universe) Canon. Basically, don’t take anything seriously, because anything can happen, anytime, anywhere, anyhow. Anyway…let’s talk to Michael Price, and ask him about it.

This is it, the moment fans are waiting for. Obi Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul finally meet each other in the Season Finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars this March 16, Friday, 8PM ET/PT on the Cartoon Network.

For those in need of a recap, Darth Maul and Obi Wan first met each other in Naboo, during the events of The Phantom Menace. Maul faced both Jedi Master Qui Gon Jinn and the young Obi Wan Kenobi. Maul was able to defeat Qui Gonn, and almost did the same thing to the jedi master’s padawan. It was only through luck that Kenobi was able to get the jump on Maul, cutting the sith lord and half and letting him fall to his death.
