Across the 2nd Dimension gets Disney Phineas, Phineas, Ferb and Ferb

Across the 2nd Dimension gets Disney Phineas, Phineas, Ferb and Ferb

Dr. Doofenshmirtz has created something truly special with his Otherdimensionator. But “special” never just means “oh, neat!” It also has the danger of meaning “AAAAAHHHH!!!” Honest! Take, for example, the use of this machine in Disney’s upcoming made for TV movie, Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension. Set to hit the Disney Channel on August 5th, and replaying on Disney XD August 13th, the film puts Phineas and Ferb in an alternate universe, where a second Dr. Doof evilly rules over the Tri-State Area, courtesy of his robots. And where there’s a second Dr. Doof, there’s also a second Phineas and a second Ferb! Maybe this would make a great time for Perry to reveal his secret identity as Agent P!

Disney's Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension August 5th

As we stretch into the days of summer, few cartoon characters make better use of this time than Phineas and Ferb, the Disney duo whose popularity rivals any animated series. Disney apparently figured “what better way to capitalize on this phenomenon than to make a movie”, and thus we have Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension. The special original movie premieres on the Disney Channel Friday August 5th, and Disney XD on Saturday August 13th. We’ve been waiting for this film for a long, long time so it’s great to know the time is almost here. Would your life be better with more than one Phineas? Two Ferbs? Would you travel through Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s Otherdimensionator? Let us know in the comments, below, and check out the teaser trailer!

Superman Classic is fan animation meets comic book perfection

Superman Classic is fan animation meets comic book perfection

Superman has had a lot of exposure. Nearly 75 years of comic books, serials, cereals (both!), cartoons, toys, half a dozen films, etc. Every example has a different perspective on the character, from look to personality. Some are hit and some are miss, and those associated, from Smallville’s Tom Welling to Bryan Singer’s recent Superman Returns. But it’s the fans who make those reactions and turn projects into legends – so maybe its the fans who know the character best of all. That’s likely the motivation for Robb Pratt, a Superman fan who used his amazing traditional and digital art and animation talents to create a minute-long toon called Superman Classic. More than just a Max Fleischer reminiscent webisode, this clip features some style and techniques that put many studios to shame. Check it out!
