Disney Interactive Media and Youtube Form a Content Partnership

A recent NY times report has revealed that two of the most powerful media companies in the world, Youtube and Walt Disney Interactive, have entered into a partnership that will help both companies deal with difficulties that they are encountering lately. The agreement between the two companies may seem like a small thing if you look at it from a financial standpoint; Disney Interactive Media and Google’s Youtube division will spend a combined total of $10 to $15 million on a series of original videos, which will be produced by Disney and streamed on both Disney and Youtube’s respective sites. The sites will also feature amateur video content taken from Youtube, with the selection process being overseen by Disney.

After the events of Kingdom Hearts II, and the Battle with Xemnas, Sora, Riku and Kairi take some time to relax on Destiny Islands. Meanwhile, Jiminy Cricket spends his time chronicling the events from the first game when he notices a line he didn’t remember writing. It seems a number of things in Jiminy’s journal have the power to create themselves spontaneously, as the gang will soon learn, spiraling through virtual levels of locations they’ve already visited in earlier game titles. There’s Destiny Islands, Traverse Town, Alice’s Wonderland, Olympus Coliseum, Agrabah, and Hollow Bastion to name a few, in addition to Disney’s Castle. Along for the ride are King Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, the Heartless, Maleficent, Pete, and many other heroes and villains from Disney’s catalog. And now, the game can be yours, as Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded hits shelves in the US on January 11th; January 14th in the UK.

Square Enix brings Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep to PSP this week

Ten years before the first Kingdom Hearts game, the world of Disney, and the Land of Departure, is a much different place. Terra, Aqua, and Ventus are close friends, training under Master Eraqus as Keyblade-wielders. Through the adventures of Birth By Sleep, this trio runs against Xehanort and Vanitas, other Keyblade Masters, as well as the Unversed; creatures who feed from negative emotions. Dark and twisted, but could you expect anything less from Square Enix? The game, which has been selling like hotcakes in Japan since January, hits Sony PSPs across the English-speaking world this week: September 7th in the U.S., and September 10th across Europe. Exciting to Disney fans, the game includes numerous characters, including King Mickey, Yen Sid, Donald Duck, Goofy, Maleficent, and Pete, as well as Zack Fair and Moogles from the Final Fantasy games.
