If you’re a big fan of Dr. Seuss’ books and its big screen adaptations, there is no doubt that the announcement of a full-length CG adaptation of The Lorax has given you something to watch out for. Unfortunately, details about the movie itself are few and far in between, and the lone trailer they have released a few weeks ago is too short and sorely lacking in details. Well, fret no more because there is a newer (and far longer) trailer out now on Youtube:

Four months from today, the world gets Seussed. No no, it’s a good thing! Dr. Seuss, one of the most famously vivid and creative authors of our time, would be celebrating a 108th birthday on March 2nd, 2012. To properly pay homage to his legend, Illumination Entertainment is teaming with Universal Pictures to bring the world one of his greatest creations in movie form: The Lorax. The CG animated, 3D film is based on the book of the same name – just as Horton Hears a Who did a few years back. The story follows Ted, an idealistic young boy, who tries to find the one thing that will win him affection of Audrey the girl of his dreams. Isn’t that always the way? To accomplish his goal, Ted must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world. Meanwhile, we must discover the brand new teaser trailer showing off the work in progress!

Almost exactly one year from right now, Dr. Seuss will get yet another title up on the big screen. Working with Universal and Illumination Entertainment, the team will have The Lorax in theaters March 2nd, 2012, with a whole cast of special guest voices: Danny DeVito, Taylor Swift, Ed Helms, Zac Efron, Rob Riggle, Betty White, and others. The CG and 3D mix of Dr. Seuss lore will be based on the world created in the 1971 book of the same name, starring DeVito as the Lorax.

What you might already know is that the upcoming Dr. Seuss series The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That will launch on PBS Kids next month, on September 6th. What you might not know is that the toon will be available on DVD the very next day! The first DVD in the Portfolio Entertainment and Random House series is called Wings and Things, and will feature all of the animated power from The Cat in the Hat, who is voiced by famed actor and comedian Martin Short. The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!

On Monday, September 6th (Labor Day!) PBS Kids and Random House will team together to launch the new animated series The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That! Famed comedic actor Martin Short will provide the voice of Dr. Seuss’s Cat in the Hat, in the series that guides the audience on natural science-themed adventures, along with help from the Fish, Thing 1, and Thing 2. The show, which will also air on Treehouse, was put together by a partnership with Random House Children’s Entertainment, Dr. Seuss Enterprises, Portfolio Entertainment, and Collingwood O’Hare Productions.

Dr. Seuss isn’t don’t with animation just yet! His most famous story, The Cat in the Hat, is headed to PBS Kids in a new animated series titled The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That! The show is scheduled to start up in September 2010, and will star Martin Short as the voice for the Cat. …In the Hat. In addition to PBS Kids, the series will also appear on Treehouse in Canada.
