Star Wars: Episode VII has just added a couple of new names to its cast list, as a result of an open casting call that attracted over 67 thousand individuals. The first lucky hopeful is an American actress studying in Glasgow, Scotland, named Crystal Clarke. Her background includes experience in both stage and screen acting, and will be soon seen in her first feature, The Moon and the Sun.The next cast member is British actor Pip Andersen, who is a skilled parkour practitioner who has shown his abilities in a recent Spider-Man advert for Sony.

Official Star Wars site, StarWars.com, has just revealed that the 7th (chronologically speaking) installment in the long running sci-fi franchise Star Wars has just been given an official release date, despite previous reports of conflicts within the expected 2015 slate and the creative team’s estimated delivery time. According to the announcement, Star Wars: Episode VII will be released on December 18, 2015.

Trouble Brewing Over at Star Wars Ep. 7

It seems like all is not well in the House of Mouse, particularly with regard to one of their biggest acquisitions to date. As reported by HollywoodReporter.com, progress on Star Wars Ep. 7 is going a little bit slower than expected (with the script still uncompleted and no major casting announcements to date) despite Disney trumpeting the movie as its marquee release in May 2015.

According to THR’s report, producer Kathleen Kennedy and the rest of the creative team have asked the Disney execs to push Episode VII’s release back to 2016 in order to give them enough time to deliver the best possible iteration of the film.
