Nickelodeon magically works on Winx Club toys

They might have a great deal of magic, and magix, to back up their beauty, but the Winx fairies don’t know all that much about making toys and products and such. Thus, the good folks at Nickelodeon decided they’d partner with the experts at JAKKS Pacific as the master toy licensee for the Winx Club. Included in the deal are all types of figures and bags and other goodies based on the animated fantasy toon. Dolls, playsets, role play costumes, dress-up and Halloween costumes, and other highlights are expected to be amongst the best sellers. Now’s your chance to look like Bloom, Aisha, Stella, Flora, Musa, or Tecna!

This month, Nickelodeon gets magical! Or… even… magixical! After a long run on 4Kids, the Winx Club is making their official debut on Nickelodeon networks, with the first of many shows to come appearing in June. So what’s the basic story? Bloom, our heroine, is an ordinary girl who discovers she’s really a fairy with extraordinary powers! How’s that for a leap!! Bloom learns to use her magical powers at the finest fairy school in all the realms, Alfea College, where she meets her new best friends, Stella, Flora, Musa, Tecna and Aisha. Together, as the Winx Club, they study hard in school, hang out at their favorite spots in Magix and go on lots of exciting adventures. When faced with trouble, they transform into beautiful fairies and save the world from all sorts of villains, like The Trix, a trio of evil witches named Stormy, Icy, and Darcy. But for these six fairies, nothing can defeat their powerful magic and even stronger friendship. Get ready to feel the magic!

Magix hits Nickelodeon with Winx Club

Magix hits Nickelodeon with Winx Club

So, we just recently started to get some official bits of news about the Winx Club heading over to Nickelodeon. For years, we’ve been without our favorite fairies, and years before that, they were on the various 4Kids programming, like CW4Kids, 4KidsTV, and even the FoxBox. Now, Nickelodeon plans to give the girls (Bloom, Stella, Musa, Tecna, Flora, and Aisha) all sorts of Magix. Just as many of you head out of school for summer, Nick is sending the girls to Alfea College, where each can train to become the best fairy they can be. Will the Trix get in the way? I guess that’s just the risk (rix?) we’ll have to take. As long as it means more Winx Club on TV!!

Rainbow brings PopPixie to Nickelodeon

Now that the Winx Club girls have made their way over the Nickelodeon, what do you think would be the best place for their Pixie friends? Nick, of course! With that in mind, Rainbow and Nickelodeon have struck a deal to give the cartoon giant international broadcasting rights for PopPixie across a number of regions, including the UK, Germany, Australia, and Africa (we’re workin’ on North American details, no worries!). The fantastical dimension of Pixieville features mischievous gnomes, magical animals, and, of course, the Pixies. But when trouble-making Elves stir up excitement, it’s up to the adventurous and magical PopPixies, Amore, Caramel, Chatta, Cherie, Fixit, Lockette, Martino, and others, to set things straight. Wizard Hat Productions heads to Grim Hill

Wizard Hat Productions heads to Grim Hill

Linda DeMeulemeester probably never had an animated series in mind when she wrote her first Grim Hill book. But once the first was deemed a success, and a sequel met with a similar reaction, the train kept rolling! Now, with 5 titles in the franchise, Wizard Hat Productions wanted to jump in to ready a CG animated series based on the adventures. The tale mixes Celtic myths with faerie lore, with Cat, Sookie, Jasper, and Clive live their regular teenage lives while fighting powerful, mythical creatures. Wizard Hat has been crafting the look of the series with guidance from Pam Slavin, Toni Stevens, and Bill Fox, who formally worked at Cookie Jar Entertainment.

Winx Club heads to Nickelodeon (No more CW4Kids or Toonzai?)

Winx Club heads to Nickelodeon (No more CW4Kids or Toonzai?)

After years of Magix on 4Kids television (from FoxBox to 4KidsTV to CW4Kids) it appears that the Winx Club is moving their way over to Nickelodeon. We knew it was coming; the new 4Kids Saturday morning block, dubbed Toonzai, appears to have a lineup solely geared to boys. Now, in an effort to bring the female based iCarly audience to the world of animation, Nickelodeon has big plans for our favorite magical fairies! In addition to getting all existing seasons and the two animated films, Nick and Rainbow will co-produce seasons five and six of Winx Club, set to air on Nick in early 2012. But just as when Nick got the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from 4Kids, they’re not delaying in bringing you content! In 2011, Nickelodeon will introduce four one-hour specials based on the first four seasons of the series. That will give fans, old and new alike, a chance to hang out with Bloom, Stella, Flora, Tecna, Musa, and Layla!

Pixie Hollow Fairies star in Disney’s Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue

Pixie Hollow Fairies star in Disney's Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue

Last year, Disney came to the DVD world and presented Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, a CG animated adventure staring Tinker Bell of Peter Pan fame. Now, the House of Mouse is ready to debut the all-new and original sequel, Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue, from the very same DisneyToon Studios. The story revolves around Tinker Bell, a fairy creation of J. M. Barrie in his play, The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up. And while we, as an animated audience, were first introduced to Tink in Walt Disney’s Peter Pan, the Great Fairy Rescue tells a story of Tink meeting her first ever human, Lizzy, and how the entire fairy legion of Pixie Hollow had to come together to save her. With just a few weeks until the September 21st launch, we can hardly wait to find out what happens!

With the help of some handy Pixie Dust, we’re floating our way closer to the release of Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue. The latest and greatest DVD and Blu-ray adventure from Disney is a full, new, CG animated film starring Tink, everyone’s favorite fairy, years before her role in Peter Pan. That means pre-Wendy, pre-Michael, and pre-John. In the summer time of a beautiful English countryside, an enchanting encounter unfolds when Tinker Bell and Lizzy discover the existence of one another. As their different worlds unite, Tink develops a special bond with the curious girl in need of a friend. The tale features all the fairies of Pixie Hollow, and features a daring adventure to save all of fairy kind! Take a look at some shots of the film

The Fairly OddParents and Nickelodeon present A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner

The Fairly OddParents and Nickelodeon present A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner

Imagine you’re a kid. Well, ok, that’s probably pretty easy. Now imagine you’ve also got magical fairy God Parents that will grant you all kinds of special wishes. Better, right? Now imagine that when you grow up, you lose those fairy guardians. Terrible! Well, that’s the challenge that Timmy faces with Nickelodeon presents the upcoming, future-set movie A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner. The special, a mix of live action and CG animation, takes Nick’s The Fairly OddParents animated series 13 years to the future, where Timmy is now 23, and refusing to grow up. Why? Because “Da Rules” say godchildren lose their fairies when they do, and Timmy would have to leave Cosmo and Wanda behind. We’ll get the sneak peeks when we can, and look for the debut of this movie next year, 2011.
