Boomerang offers a Captain Planet and the Planeteers marathon on Earth Day

Hoping to make a difference this year for Earth Day, Cartoon’s cousin Network (sister network? brother?) Boomerang (Australian brother?) will offer viewers a special 12-hour marathon of Captain Planet and the Planeteers; perhaps the Earth-friendliest superhero squad of all time. The marathon will run this Saturday, April 17th, from 8am to 8pm, kicking off with a two-part episode called “Summit to Save Earth”. The series made its original debut in 1990, based on an idea by creator Ted Turner, following 5 kids from around the world. The kids, Kwame, Wheeler, Linka, Gi, and Ma-Ti, use the powers of Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, and Heart to form Captain Planet. Take a look at the show’s intro
