Greatest TV Cartoon Theme Songs #2: Scooby Doo, Where are You!

Greatest TV Cartoon Theme Songs #2: Scooby Doo, Where are You!

There have been many versions of Scooby Doo, in TV and Movies, and many versions of Scooby Doo theme songs. Don’t even get us started on the ones that included Scrappy Doo. For years, Scooby Doo has been fighting “The Simpsons” for the Guinness Book World Record for most episodes of a cartoon. Way before the Scooby Doo franchise “jumped the shark” with Scrappy Doo, in 1969, there was “Scooby Doo, Where are you!” Apparently, it was the exclamation point that won over the question mark because it was being yelled by Shaggy. This version of the theme song is the first, and still the best, after all these years.

Oasis Animation and Toon Boom Animation ready Lucky Fred for Disney

Lucky Fred just got… well, lucky. In an enhanced effort to bring the brand new toon to the Disney Channel across the globe (in Spain, France, Germany, Italy, India, and Australia) producers at Oasis Animation and Toon Boom Animation have added 70 new jobs, doubling their workforce, and all dedicated to readying the show. Co produced by Imira Entertainment, the series follows the adventures of a young boy and his intergalactic robot, which is able to change into anything Fred desires. The bot’s formal title, a Reality Enhancement Drone, explains one of the reasons Fred is always so lucky. Originally conceived of by Myriam Ballesteros, 13-year-old Fred and R.E.D. (Lucky RED?) are an unlikely pair of best friends, who use decision making, planning, and a great imagination on their daily adventures.

Greatest TV Cartoon Theme Songs #5: The Flintstones

Greatest TV Cartoon Theme Songs #5: The Flintstones

As the 5 o’clock whistle blows at the quarry, Fred lets out a really loud, “YABBA DABBA DOO!!”, and slides down the back of his brontosaurus, racing home in his car, as fast his two feet will carry him. This iconic opening of the theme song is your introduction to “The Flintstones”, a modern stone-age family from a town called Bedrock. After he gets home, Fred picks up his family and the Rubbles and they all drive down to see a Drive-In movie. Hey, how is Dino supposed to enjoy the movie with Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm on his head? This must have been the event that brought about the idea for the sunroof in a car. Seriously, who wants to fix that roof every time they see a movie?

Greatest TV Cartoon Theme Songs #6: Super Friends

Ahhh! Saturday Mornings with Cereal and Super Friends. This made for a perfect combination, even if the show wasn’t very good. The Theme song was very good. The Super Friends Theme starts out with a type of roll call as a strong beat is placed. The images shown are of each character highlighted in the middle, then placed into their spot under the Super Friends Marquee. It then introduces each of the 4 main Superheroes, showing them in action, including the 3 Junior Superheroes, who are really just super sleuths. Narrating this theme with a powerful and effective voice is Ted Knight, who also did narrating duties for the show as well.
