Free Flash Game: Nitro Ninja

Free Flash Game: Nitro Ninja

There are a lot of side-scrolling flash stunt games out there, and there’s so many of them that it’s getting hard to tell them apart from each other. Today’s free flash game solves that problem by incorporating a few twists into the overused genre.

First thing’s first, YOU ARE A MOTORBIKE-RIDING NINJA. That alone is enough to separate it from the rest of the stunt games featuring boring motocross riders. The whole game is consistent with the ninja theme, from the tricks, to the items being shurikens, even with the wipe-out animation. There is no wipe-out here. You are a ninja, after all. So when you crash, the rider just backflips out of harm’s way. Beat that, Mr. Motocross rider.

Play Lock n Load

Today’s free flash game is called Lock n Load, and it’s another one of those browser based games that try to emulate an FPS, without actually being an FPS. Unlike other roughshod attempts, Lock n Load is not a railshooter. You still don’t get the chance to move, but instead of a railshooter’s gung-ho mechanics, Lock n Load requires you to use caution and snipe the enemies when they’re not looking.

Free Flash Game: Try to Survive

Today’s Free Flash Game is called “Try to Survive”, and that basically sums up what the game wants you to do. Try to Survive an onslaught of various post-apocalyptic critters, using only a medium sized gun turret, with additional help from other tools and upgrades that you can earn over time.

The graphics are decent in this game, with the orange texture of the ground perfectly contrasting with the gun turret’s green. The frames of animation seem to be enough to make animation smooth, which helps make the controls fluid and responsive.

Today’s free flash game is a sidescrolling shooter called Red Riot. It’s purely 2D but the use of high resolution assets give it a 2.5D look, and coupled with smooth animation make it a really gorgeous looking game that belies its simple browser based roots.

I noticed that Toonbarn’s Arcade Section has a lot of racing and physics-based puzzle games, and we’ve got the occasional rail shooter and beat em up, but there’s no SHMUPs at all. So today’s free flash game is an SHMUP, both in name and in gameplay.

The aptly named S.H.M.U.P. puts you in the role of a Helious Minor Solar System, which is currently being invaded by an unknown force stationed on the world of Coeus. As the entire solar system lie in peril, you are part of the cadre of soldiers who have mobilized and decided to take the fight to Coeus, in order to regain control of Helious Minor.

It’s Saturday, which means it’s free flash game time on Toonbarn once again!

Today’s free flash game is called 3D Quad Bike Racing, and as the name implies, it’s a 3D racing game featuring quad bikes – you know, the motorbikes that have four wheels instead of two.

I’ve mentioned it a number of times before, but I really LOVE flash games with 3D graphics, especially ones that you wouldn’t expect from code that has no access to 3d accelerated videocards. 3D Quad Bike is one of these games, as it has 3D graphics that are on par with Nintendo 64 games.

Today’s Free Flash Game is Batman: Rooftop Caper. It’s an official game from Warner Bros and DC, originally created as a cross promotional tool for the cartoon series Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Of course, this being an officially made game means that it’s well-made, with graphics that look good enough to be mistaken for the show instead of the crude, rushed graphics people usually expect from free flash games. Frankly, the game looks very similar to the Nintendo DS and Wii game based on Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Play Batman: Gotham City Rush

We’re big fans of Batman here at Toonbarn, in his many cartoon incarnations. And while the Batman in the Brave and the Bold series may have been lighter than the one we have grown to love from Batman: The Animated Series, we’re still big fans, because hey – it’s the caped crusader! What’s not to love about the Dark Knight, even if he’s slightly less dark than what we wanted?
