Genius Brands and Comcast Launch New Kid Genius Channel

Genius Brands International has recently struck a deal with Comcast in order to launch a new kid-targeted channel on Xfinity On Demand. Dubbed the Kid Genius Channel, the new service aims to deliver “Smart TV for Kids” via Genius Brands’ rich library of kid-friendly content and experience in the preschool-oriented entertainment industry. The channel is slated to debut on fall 2015.

GBI’s Senior Vice President of Global Distribution Sales Andy Berman, who joined the company last year to oversee the expansion of the international distribution business, will head the Kid Genius operation. Berman brings 30 years of experience in the children’s content business having previously formed and spearheaded the worldwide sales efforts for FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment.

Genius Brands International Announces Launch of Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab

Genius Brands International has recently announced the US TV premiere of their new animated children’s series “Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab.” The new series has been produced in association with Georgia Public Broadcasting. Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab aims to inspire fun, creativity, and a love for science and entrepreneurism among kids. The 26 x 30 minute series will start airing on US public TV stations in April 2015 (check local listings.)
