Green Lantern has always been one of the most fun to draw superheroes. Hal Jordan may have undergone changes based on different interpretations, but there are still elements that have become staples of sector 2814’s Green Lantern, which is why you can easily recognize that yes, the Green Lantern in the new CG series from Cartoon Network is indeed Hal.

Cartoon Network, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. launch DC Nation

In 2012, Cartoon Network has comic book goodness in store for all of us! Next year, the animation giant will launch DC Nation, an enormous partnership between the CN and DC Comics. Working with Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment, DC Nation will be “a multi-platform block of exclusive branded original content.” DC Nation will be the exclusive home for original DC animation properties, including the upcoming CG animated Green Lantern The Animated Series, with other heroic (and villainous) icons, like Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Cyborg, and The Flash, along the way. Having already been the home for various DC toons, such as Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, it seems the partnership is already a perfect match. Now, the future seems even brighter!

Though we have to wait until the spring of 2012 to get a real feel of the upcoming Green Lantern: The Animated Series, folks at Cartoon Network have recently handed out a few early looks at the project to keep us happy! Included amongst the details are a number of renderings, showing Hal Jordan, Kilowag, Atrocitus, the Guardians, Salaak, Zilius Zox, and a number of other all-stars we’ve all come to know and love from the DC Comics cast. New York Comic Con 2010 was a big source for the information, but a steady stream has continued to flow with new details ever since. What is known now is that the multiple color storylines of the Green Lantern series that debuted in comics a few years back will play heavily in the animated tale, using the Red Lanterns as the main villains.
