Seth Rogen joins DreamWorks Animation’s Boo U

Seth Rogen joins DreamWorks Animation's Boo U

He’s quickly becoming the number one star of voice acting in animated projects. He’s starred as Mantis in Kung Fu Panda, and will reprise that role in Kung Fu Panda 2. He was Morton in Horton Hears a Who. He slopped along as B.O.B. in Monsters vs Aliens, played a Ship Captain in Shrek the Third, Hogsqueal in The Spiderwick Chronicles, and even guest starred as Lyle McCarthy on an episode of The Simpsons. Seth Rogen is no stranger to the world of voice acting, and DreamWorks is not done with him! According to recent reports, Rogen will star as the lead character in DreamWorks Animations’ upcoming 3D, CG film titled Boo U. His character, a ghost, of course, is sent back to school to learn how to better scare people. I wonder if that place is Casper’s Scare School…?

Jack Black hunts Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster

Jack Black hunts Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster

Well, at least, in animated form. Jack Black is currently involved with Chris Meledandri’s production unit, a part of Universal, for an upcoming animated film. While there’s still no name for the movie, it has already been acquired by Illumination Entertainment based on the premise; the search for beasts and monsters of legend, like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. The animated film will be produced by Electric Dynamite, bringing teams together who have formerly worked on Horton Hears a Who!, the Ice Age movies, and The King of Kong. Jack Black is no noob to the world of voice acting, starring in the role of Po in Kung Fu Panda, and ranking amongst the all time top earners. We’ll just have to wait and see how this one fares! Any early thoughts?

Despicable Me

Despicable Me

Steve Carell, star of the animated Horton Hears a Who! and Over the Hedge will be bringing his voice talents to another animated feature.  The Universal Pictures film, titled Despicable Me, is scheduled to hit theaters in 2010.  It’s about a trio of orphan girls who cause the normally deplorable Groo to rethink his plan to steal the moon.
