Robert Downey Jr. Backpedals on Iron Man 4 Confirmation

Over the past few days, the news of Robert Downey Jr somehow confirming Iron Man 4 at Ellen Degeneres’ prodding was plastered all over the Internet. It’s not speculation or an insider leak but the actual actor who has defined the movie version of Tony Stark saying that yes, there’s an Iron Man 4. Unfortunately for fans of Downey’s Tony Stark, the actor has since gone back on his word.

In a recent appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman, Downey Jr. stated that he won’t be involved in the project after all. When asked by Letterman, Downey jr. not only said that there was no script in place, but that he had no intention of donning the suit for a fourth solo movie.

Robert Downey Jr. Shoots Down Iron Man 4 Rumors

Marvel has already confirmed in the past that their plans for the solo Iron Man film franchise only go up to Iron Man 3, so we have no idea where rumors of a fourth film came from, but there are rumors floating around and they’re making enough noise to attract the attention of Robert Downey Jr. himself, who broke his silence and confirmed that there are no plans for a fourth film.

New Preview Clip and Gallery from Marvel’s Iron Man & Captain America: Heroes United

The last Heroes United, which had Iron Man teaming up with Hulk ended well, but the two heroes had a little bit of friction along the way. Most would chalk it up to the Hulk being highly unstable, but we’re not that quick to absolve Stark of all the blame. He can be obtuse sometimes. And with the new installment of the Heroes United series of films, we might get to see if Stark is really completely free of faults, as there’s no way a conflict will be instigated by his next partner: Mr. Captain America himself, Steve Rogers.

In Marvel’s Iron Man & Captain America: Heroes United, Iron Man and Captain America will have to join forces in order to combat the compounded threat of the Red Skull, Taskmaster and an army of Hydra Brutes. The film will feature the voices of Adrian Pasdar and Roger Craig voicing Iron Man and Captain America, respectively. Clancy Brown will also be featured, lending his voice to the villainous Taskmaster.

Toonbarn’s 2013 Holiday Gift Guide!

Toonbarn's 2013 Holiday Gift Guide!

With Christmas only a few weeks away, we at Toonbarn have decided to compile a list of items that we believe would look great under the Christmas Tree this year. Personally, I’m just going to give my relatives download codes for a bunch of movies and call it a day, but it’s a lazy approach and won’t be appreciated by most people. Download codes may be economical and convenient…heck, it may even be the gift that people deserve! But it’s seriously not the one they need right now.

People these days would rather get things that can be wrapped in paper, stuffed under the Christmas tree, and shoved in their face so they can leave you the heck alone for the rest of the year…wait, sorry. I got a little bit carried away. I’m basically saying if you’re giving away something that is non-tangible as a gift, a smile would do. If you want to do something that not any random person with teeth can do, you need to follow our Holiday Gift Guide.

Of course, some of you are thinking this holiday gift guide is a month too early and should be posted mid-December, but what kind of pud releases a gift-giving guide around the time when most people have already bought gifts for their loved ones?! Not ME. I’m an entirely different kind of pud.

If you don’t want to spend a single cent on a really cool gift for a loved one, and don’t want to smile either, you should try your luck with Toonbarn’s Nintendo Wii U and 3DS Giveaway Contests. (It’s right there, on the right side of the page) Joining is free. If you win, you get yourself a free videogame console that can be given away as gifts and then borrowed later.

Now, on with the show:

Marvel’s Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United Comes Out on Blu-Ray this December

If you’re looking for a new home video to add to your marathon schedule when December rolls around, Marvel’s got a new Blu-Ray that would make a great lead-in, especially if you’re planning to fill that schedule with comic book movies and specials: Marvel’s Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United, which is scheduled to come out on Blu-Ray this coming December 3, 2013

Marvel’s Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United is a new action-packed CG animated adventure that brings together two of Marvel’s most popular heroes, first against each other, and then together against a threat that no hero can defeat on his own.

Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel Debuts Tonight on Disney Channel

Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel debuts tonight at 8 PM ET on Disney Channel

Phineas And Ferb: Mission Marvel is a special 1-hour episode which airs tonight (Friday, August 16), at 8 PM ET on Disney Channel. This is the first crossover between the Phineas and Ferb characters and the Marvel Superheroes. If you want to know why Captain America is missing, and Spiderman is on the team, it all has to do with Phineas and Ferb creators Dan Povenmire and Swampy Marsh playing favorites. They like Spiderman. Captain America… not so much. I think we all agree Spidey has more opportunity for hilarious one-liners than Cap.

According to Dan Povenmire, the challenge for this crossover, or any crossover for that matter, is pleasing fans of both camps. He has talked about it in interviews leading up to tonight’s debut on Disney Channel. Doing something Marvel fans may think is cheesy or violates the characters would make fans upset. It had to work for both sides. We had a chance to see the episode on the Disney Channel iPad app, and we think it works perfectly.

New Trailer for Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel

Phineas-and-Ferb-Mission-Ma

Phineas and Ferb doesn’t really seem like the kind of show that Marvel’s superheroes would visit as part of an official crossover, but with Disney being owners of Marvel, and with Marvel Superhero Squad showing that the franchise has legs as a kid-oriented comedy show, you sort of understand how it could work. Case in point: the big Mission Marvel crossover special, which premieres this summer.
