New J-Stars Victory VS+ Trailer Shows Off Fighting Stars

Shonen Jump’s crossover 3D fighter, J-Stars Victory VS+ may have way too many characters for any one fan to keep track of, especially if said fan is non-Japanese. Thankfully, Bandai Namco Europe has just posted a new trailer that shows off many “fighting stars,” or what we assume to be the frontliners from the game’s stunning 50-character roster consisting of over 32 different franchises.

New J-Stars Victory Vs. Trailer Features Gon Freecs

Namco Bandai’s upcoming cross-franchise 3D fighter, J-Stars Victory Vs., has just released a brand new trailer. This time around, it focuses on Hunter x Hunter’s primary protagonist, the son of the famous hunter Ging Freecs, Gon.

Gon is a highly skilled, altruistic, and all-around friendly young boy who is constantly searching for adventure. In search of his legendary father, Gon meets potential allies along the way and trains enough to be considered a formidable hunter even by people who have been around way longer than he is. His most prominent weakness is the fact that he’s not very good at math.

We’ve posted news and information about this several times in the past, but in case you missed it – Shonen Jump’s 45th anniversary will be celebrated with a 3D fighting game that pits characters from various manga that have graced its pages throughout its publication history, such as current big names Gintama, Bleach, One Piece and Naruto, alongside old favorites like YuYu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Dragonball Z, and many others.

J-Stars Victory Vs. Footage: Naruto vs. Luffy

While most anime fans (outside of the really rabid Oda loyalists) would agree that Naruto can beat Monkey D. Luffy in a fight, the power gap between the two is not that big to warrant a “one-sided” or “unfair” outcry as opposed to, say, a match between Himura Kenshin and Son Goku. The new J-Stars Victory Vs. Footage proves this, as it shows off a few scenes with the Nine Tails jinchuuriki squaring off against the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates.

The shonen-themed crosssover fighting game J-Stars Victory VS. has just released a new batch of screenshots, this time featuring Rurouni Kenshin’s Himura Kenshin doing a number on Bleach’s Ichigo Kurosaki and Dragonball’s Son Goku. One screenshot in particular shows Kenshin using Ryu Sou Sen on the poor Saiyan (not that it will have any effect on Goku, if it were a real fight between the fictional characters).
