Top 5 Anime Games That Should Have Been Released Outside of Japan

The thing about a lot of anime franchises, particularly shonen ones, is that they lend themselves well to video game adaptations. When a guy in a suit wants to milk more money from a show about spiky-haired people shooting lasers from their swords while kicking each other into mountains, the first thing he thinks of is video games (or poetry, if it’s the guy that will be fired within minutes of stating his bright idea.) So most anime franchises do get their own videogame adaptations.

And since the rest of the world has already become a lucrative market for these things, the anime games eventually find their way to our consoles and handhelds, with a language we can understand slapped on top. Unfortunately, there are things that fall through the cracks – games that didn’t get any localization for some reason even though they have an audience overseas. Here are 5 of the best ones that come to mind:

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Opening in MSPaint

It used to be that MS Paint was considered as the image editor of amateurs and people who just want to create something without giving a single F when it comes to quality, but over time MS Paint artwork became its own thing, where people try to produce works of art that obviously required a lot of effort while at the same time hurdling the application’s ridiculous lack of capability.

As an example, the folks over at OurFinalForm once took on the task of recreating the opening for Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part I: Phantom Blood using mostly MS Paint and a little bit of Photoshop, a monumental undertaking that they claim to have taken billions of hours to complete. The David Production continues their release of character promos for the adaptation of Hirohiko Araki’s iconic Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure manga, which will return this April via a new anime series based on Part III: Stardust Crusaders. Preview for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part III Released

After almost a year-long hiatus, the David Production anime adaptation of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga returns this April via a new installment based on Part III: Stardust Crusaders. In order to tease the anime’s return to the small screens, a new preview video has just been released, featuring returning hero Joseph Joestar and his Stand, Purple Hermit.
