An interview with Cartoon Network's ThunderCats Thunder-Cast

The ThunderCats are loose again on Cartoon Network! After months and months of buildup and waiting, last week, the CN finally unleashed the premiere episode of the new ThunderCats series with a one-hour special episode called Omens. Perfectly reviving the 1980s classic toon, the new animated series has an entirely fresh take on the originals, with a bold new story, all-new mythology, and a brand new cast. Amongst the biggest players on the series are Kevin Michael Richardson as Panthro, Matthew Mercer as Tygra, and Will Friedle as the voice of the new Lion-O. Friedle, for those Batfans out there, is known for his role as Terry McGinnis in Warner Bros.’ other toon, Batman Beyond, and will now bring Lion-O to a new generation of Thunderfans. Check out what the cast had to say about the roles in this exclusive interview

G.I. Joe: Renegades hits The Hub this October

G.I. Joe: Renegades hits The Hub this October

Hasbro Studios has big plans for the upcoming launch of their new network, The Hub. The channel, a joint project along with Discovery channel set to launch on October 10, 2010, will be a cartoon fan’s dream, with dozens of classic and new animated series. Of special note will be a revival of two of the more famous franchises; Transformers and GI Joe will be reborn as Transformers: Prime and G.I. Joe: Renegades. Branded as renegades for crimes they did not commit, a heroic group of young G.I.s is forced to “turn fugitive” as they battle to clear their names, and expose the evil that is Cobra Industries — a seemingly benevolent mega-corporation covertly controlled by a rogues gallery intent on creating a New World Order. The all-star voice cast will include a lineup of Charlie Adler, Lee Majors, Clancy Brown, Jason Marsden, Johnny Messner, and Kevin Michael Richardson, to name a few. Take a look at a teaser clip

Transformers: Prime brings Transformers Generation 1 to The Hub this October

Transformers: Prime brings Transformers Generation 1 to The Hub this October

The Transformers have been around for thousands of years, in their time. In our time, we’ve had about 30 or so. In either time frame, they’re awesome. With the two recent Transformer films doing so well in theaters, and the revival of classic toons sparking (pun!) everyone’s interest, Discovery and Hasbro decided they’d take advantage of this for their new network, The Hub, and launch an all new series, Transformers Prime. The CG toon is built in the world of generation one, when Optimus Prime did regular battle with Megatron. They’ve even gone so far as bringing back many of the original voice actors from the 1980s toon for the definitive cartoon, including: Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, Gina Torres, James Remer, Josh Keaton, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Markie Post.
