Nickelodeon to Debut Wallykazam on February

Wallykazam-640x514

This coming February 3, at 1 PM on Nickelodeon, preschoolers will get the chance to discover the magic of words as the network launches the brand new animated preschool series Wallykazam! The show focuses on the adventures of a troll named Wally and his pet dragon, Norville, who both live in a forest with other magical creatures such as giants, goblins, ogres, and sprites. Wally can use his magic stick in order to bring words to life on a screen that starts with a specific letter, sound or rhyme. Each episode features a new set of magic words that Wally uses to playfully transform the world around him.

Wallykazam! Is the first preschool series in Nickelodeon that uses a literacy curriculum framed by a full-length story. The curriculum includes skills such as letter and sound identification, rhyming, vocabulary development and comprehension strategies.

Nickelodeon magically works on Winx Club toys

Nickelodeon magically works on Winx Club toys

They might have a great deal of magic, and magix, to back up their beauty, but the Winx fairies don’t know all that much about making toys and products and such. Thus, the good folks at Nickelodeon decided they’d partner with the experts at JAKKS Pacific as the master toy licensee for the Winx Club. Included in the deal are all types of figures and bags and other goodies based on the animated fantasy toon. Dolls, playsets, role play costumes, dress-up and Halloween costumes, and other highlights are expected to be amongst the best sellers. Now’s your chance to look like Bloom, Aisha, Stella, Flora, Musa, or Tecna!

This month, Nickelodeon gets magical! Or… even… magixical! After a long run on 4Kids, the Winx Club is making their official debut on Nickelodeon networks, with the first of many shows to come appearing in June. So what’s the basic story? Bloom, our heroine, is an ordinary girl who discovers she’s really a fairy with extraordinary powers! How’s that for a leap!! Bloom learns to use her magical powers at the finest fairy school in all the realms, Alfea College, where she meets her new best friends, Stella, Flora, Musa, Tecna and Aisha. Together, as the Winx Club, they study hard in school, hang out at their favorite spots in Magix and go on lots of exciting adventures. When faced with trouble, they transform into beautiful fairies and save the world from all sorts of villains, like The Trix, a trio of evil witches named Stormy, Icy, and Darcy. But for these six fairies, nothing can defeat their powerful magic and even stronger friendship. Get ready to feel the magic!

Magix hits Nickelodeon with Winx Club

Magix hits Nickelodeon with Winx Club

So, we just recently started to get some official bits of news about the Winx Club heading over to Nickelodeon. For years, we’ve been without our favorite fairies, and years before that, they were on the various 4Kids programming, like CW4Kids, 4KidsTV, and even the FoxBox. Now, Nickelodeon plans to give the girls (Bloom, Stella, Musa, Tecna, Flora, and Aisha) all sorts of Magix. Just as many of you head out of school for summer, Nick is sending the girls to Alfea College, where each can train to become the best fairy they can be. Will the Trix get in the way? I guess that’s just the risk (rix?) we’ll have to take. As long as it means more Winx Club on TV!!

Hit Entertainment and Nelvana Studio introduce Mike the Knight

Hit Entertainment and Nelvana Studio introduce Mike the Knight

When Alexander Bar realized there wasn’t enough animated attention being paid to castles, dragons, magic, and the whole world of adventures, he came up with the perfect solution: Mike the Knight. Bringing the concept to Hit Entertainment, who later joined forces with Nelvana Studio, have helped bring the idea to life, as they proudly develop the CG animated series. The toon is set in the land of Glendragon, following the tales of the heroic knight, who must deal with dragons and princesses and regular medieval life through the eyes of a kid. Treehouse has already signed on to air the show next year, with CBeebies soon to follow. Check out some renders and the full press release

An evil sorcerer with plans to rule over all of Agrabah on his way to taking over the Universe, Jafar once hid himself as the Grand Vizier of the Sultan of Agrabah. However, not a day went by that he didn’t try to acquire more power, most notably through his quest to trap the fabled Genie of the Lamp. As soon as he is able to take hold over the Genie, he truly becomes the greatest nemesis Aladdin would ever fear to face. Yeah, that’s the kinda stuff that will get you ranked at #8 on our list.

While his human form is tall and thin, he is unmistakably creepy with his flowing robes of moody colors. Even Iago would agree. Once he is granted wishes through the Genie, he transforms into a giant venomous snake, capable of striking with lethal blows. But even that is not powerful and terrifying enough for the sorcerer, who commands the Genie to make him the most powerful force in all of the Universe; an all-powerful Genie. He gains demonic red muscles, spiky claws, glowing yellow eyes, and overall devil-like appearance… he went from scary, to scarier, to scariest all in a single movie! Check out some video footage
