After all the waiting, all the hoping, and all the sitting-patiently, Marvel’s Spider-Woman: Agent of S.W.O.R.D. is finally available on DVD. And what is our reward for waiting so long? A Skrull invasion courtesy of Shout! Factory and Marvel Knights Animation. Wait, what?! Boo! Looks like Skrull Queen Verank is causing a bit of an issue for our girl Jessica Drew. So, with a little help from other Marvel heroes like the Avengers and Spider-Man, it’s time for Spider-Woman to make her return to earth! Check out the teaser clip after the break, then get to watching this DVD!

In just one week, on June 14th, Marvel Knights Animation and Shout! Factory will team to release the latest comic book to DVD title in their lineup, Spider-Woman: Agent of S.W.O.R.D.. In honor of this event, we here at ToonBarn wanted to remind everyone that, even though this will be an awesome animated journey through the life of Spider-Woman, that our girl Jessica Drew actually has a long history of cartooning! In fact, over 30 years ago, Marvel Comics Animation teamed with DePatie-Freleng Enterprises to produce the Spider-Woman animated series on ABC. The series had a brief run (only about 4 months) but was is one of those iconic memories that we’re happy to share. Check out a clip and see if you can spot some of the differences between this Spider-Woman and the modern day take!

With just two weeks to go before Marvel releases their latest comic book to DVD adventure, Spider-Woman: The Agent of S.W.O.R.D., we’re finally getting a look at the box art to be used for the collection. The story will follow Jessica Drew’s battle with an invasion of Skrulls, as well as her interaction with a number of other iconic characters through out the Marvel Universe, including the Avengers, Wolverine, Captain America, and her namesake, Spider-Man. When the DVD drops on June 14th, we’ll be able to dig through the motion comic workings of Shout! Factory and Marvel Knights Animation. In the meantime, check out the cover so you’ll know what to grab at the store!

Facing a Skrull is pretty rough. But being replaced on earth by Skrull Queen Veranke, then facing an entire Skrull invasion in an effort to set things right, that could seem like a bit much. Thankfully, Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, doesn’t have to tackle the entire challenge on her own. In the upcoming DVD Spider-Woman: Agent of S.W.O.R.D., due out June 14th, Marvel Knights Animation teams with Shout! Factory to present a brand new comic-to-DVD production. Along for the ride to help Spider-Woman in her quest is an entire collection of other Marvel Super Heroes, including the Avengers, Wolverine, Black Widow, Captain America, Ms. Marvel, and of course, Spider-Man. Just your friendly neighborhood Spider… woman? This June, Marvel is bringing another comic book icon to the world of DVD, with Spider-Woman: The Agent of S.W.O.R.D. Working alongside with Shout! Factory, Marvel Knights Animation will bring Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, home, featuring a story by Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev. In addition to the main tale, the disc will include a visual history of Spider-Woman, exclusive Music Videos, and various trailers to other Marvel and Disney projects. So what will happen with Queen Veranke and Skrull invasion? Head to your DVD store June 14th to find out!

On June 14th, Marvel Knights Animation will team with Shout! Factory to present the story of Spider-Woman. This brand new comic-to-DVD release, created in the same fashion as Astonishing X-Men, Iron Man: Extremis, and Black Panther, tells the story of when Jessica Drew is approached by Abigail Brand, a mysterious agent of S.W.O.R.D.. It is then that Jessica finds that the urge within herself to inflict vengeance upon the Skrulls is too overwhelming to deny. Now, it’s time for Spider-Woman to find her replacement, the Skrull Queen Veranke, and prevent another Skrull invasion. This tale, created by Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev, features guest appearances by Spider-Man, the Avengers, Wolverine, Black Widow, Captain America and Ms. Marvel.

April Fool’s day has been running rampant all over the internet. We’ve posted a few false stories ourselves – up to you to figure out which – but this isn’t one of them! This post is actually just a celebration of the day, paying particular attention to those who would especially love it, like Thor’s brother Loki, the God of Mischief. In the upcoming animated adventure Thor: Tales of Asgard, Loki plays a prank on Fenris in the Port Hole Pub while Thor and the Warriors Three look on. And, let’s just say, things don’t turn out as originally planned. The film hits Blu-ray and DVD on May 17th 2011 from Marvel Animation and Lionsgate Home Entertainment, but check out the sneak peek clip right here!

Iron Man is pretty cool. So’s Captain America. And the Hulk? He’s awesome. On their own, Marvel’s super heroes have saved the day countless times, defeating their own sets of villains on a regular basis. But what happens when the threat to Earth is too large for one of them to handle alone? That’s when they form their own super team: The Avengers. Much like Cartoon Network’s Justice League using DC Comics’ stable of heroes, Disney will be showcasing Marvel’s side this October 20th in the new series The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! For the premiere of the Marvel Animation toon, look for back-to-back episodes starting at 8:30pm on Disney XD. As if that news weren’t enough to get you pumped, the team has a series of “micro episodes” to hype everyone up for the big debut. Check out the first few, and the trailer, after the break!

This fall, Marvel and their new bestest pal Disney will showcase a collection of their greatest super heroes and villains as Disney XD welcomes The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The Marvel Animation and Film Roman toon, set to debut just after this summer, will feature a number of Marvel’s giants, including; Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, the Hulk, the Wasp, Absorbing Man, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, JARVIS, Wonder Man, Black Panther, the Masters of Evil, Loki, and Odin. Lucky fans attending Comic Con 2010 got an early look at the series, but they shouldn’t be alone! Thus, ToonBarn is offering you True Believers the same sneak peek teaser trailer. Nicktoons and Marvel bring Iron Man: Armored Adventures back for season two

Iron Man is having a pretty good run right now. Marvel’s ShellHead super hero is ruling box offices with Iron Man 2, his smash hit sequel to 2008’s Iron Man. There are new video games based on the movie with Tony Stark’s likeness. He’ll make numerous appearances in Cartoon Network’s Marvel Super Hero Squad. And last, but not least, his very own Mr. Potato Head character. But wait, there’s more! Nicktoons is working with Marvel Animation, Method Animation, and DQ Entertainment to crank out a second season of Iron Man: Armored Adventures with 26 new episodes. The show debuted with record ratings for the Nickelodeon network, so good things are expected ahead!
