Meowth Promotes Upcoming Pokemon X and Y Card Game

meowth promotes pokemon xy card game

Meowth might not be as popular as Pikachu or the other 3 starters from his time, but he’s got a solid fanbase that can’t help but fall in love with the mischievous, opportunistic pokemon. The Pokemon Company knows it, which is probably why they gave Meowth his own chance to shine, via a short video that promotes the Japanese Pokemon XY card game, which is scheduled for release next month.

Just a warning: if you’re only familiar with the English dub of Pokemon, Inuko Inuyama’s voice may sound a little bit uncomfortable due to the big difference. But hey, they’re the original so you have to get with the program, and Meowth is Meowth, right? Also: it’s a puppet, and puppets are always kewl.

Purrloin, Sweet or Sneaky hits Black and White

Purrloin, Sweet or Sneaky hits Black and White

On Saturday morning, December 3rd, Pokemon enters a new era. We’re past Gold and Silver. We’re past Black and White. This time, we’re rocking out Purrloin, Sweet or Sneaky! With Meowth still a central character on Ash’s team, everything in the world of Pokemon seems upside down and backward. When the group stumbles upon a Purrloin Pocket Monster with a troubled past, each and every one of them falls for the Pokemon’s devious charms. As much as you might be yelling at your TV while watching Cartoon Network, there’s honestly nothing you can do. That is, nothing you can do except for Cilan, who sees the ploy for what it is, and knows Purrloin to be a rabble rouser.

Away from Team Rocket, we see Meowth’s Scrafty Tactics

Away from Team Rocket, we see Meowth's Scrafty Tactics

On Saturday, November 26th, Pokemon Black and White gives us a taste of just how low down and dirty Meowth really is. Separated from the rest of Team Rocket, you might suspect the Pokemon to be a little pacified, or maybe even nice! Well, I mean, come on, he’s sort of like an adorable little cat. But, I guess after watching Me-Mow tear up Finn and Jake in the latest episode of Adventure Time, it would be wise of Ash and company not make the same mistakes! Ash, being the nice guy that he is, notes the injuries Meowth is sporting and decides its as good a time as any to have him join the team – even calling him into action when an angry Scrafty Pocket Monster captures Axew. Is Meowth really working with the good guys now…?

Pokemon Black & White says Gotta Catch a Roggenrola on Cartoon Network

Pokemon Black & White says Gotta Catch a Roggenrola on Cartoon Network

Poor Ash. Seems like whenever he sits down for a simple lunch with Cilan and Iris, something always goes wrong. The September 24th episode of Pokemon Black and White is more of the same, when Ash and company encounter a Roggenrola. And, of course, the Roggenrola has an urgent problem that our heroes must solve. Apparently, the local water supply is cut off, which affects the Pokemon Center. Meanwhile, Team Rocket is butting in, trying to steal every Roggenrola Pocket Monster they can get their grubby hands on. Maybe this isn’t as big as Pokemon the Movie: White: Victini and Zekrom, but all we want to do is get to Nimbasa City!! Be sure to TOON in to Cartoon Network at 9am Saturday Morning for Pokemon: Black & White: Gotta Catch a Roggenrola!

Pokemon Black and White’s Sewaddle and Burgh in Pinwheel Forest on Cartoon Network

Pokemon Black and White's Sewaddle and Burgh in Pinwheel Forest on Cartoon Network

This morning on Cartoon Network, Pokemon Black and White sees Sewaddle and Burgh in Pinwheel Forest. So just what is there to do in the Pinwheel Forest? And is this a place you’ve yet seen in your Nintendo DS or Nintendo 3DS copy of Pokemon Black or Pokemon White? Well, odds are, if you’ve traveled from Nacrene City to Castelia City, it could come up. When Ash and company run across it, they spot a Sewaddle Pocket Monster. But when they try to capture the Sewaddle in a PokeBall, Ash comes face to face with the Castelia City Gym Leader: Burgh! What happens next? Is there a battle? Tune in to Cartoon Network at 9AM today (June 4th) to find out!

Pokemon Black and White features Scraggy: Hatched to be Wild

On Saturday, June 4th, Pokemon is dishing out yet another double dose of Saturday Morning cartoon action! First up, at 7AM, it’s the 17th episode of the season, Scraggy: Hatched to be Wild! When the group journies toward Castelia City for Ash’s third Unova region Gym Battle, the Egg they’ve been carrying for awhile now hatches into a Scraggy! Early in life, the headbutting newborn goes up against a pack of Galvantulas, it’s time for Ash and Pikachu to step forth and help out. But can the group escape victoriously? Will Scraggy join Ash’s legion inside a PokeBall? And what will Jessie, James, and Meowth (aka Team Rocket) do when Pierce and the stolen Meteonite find their way to Dr. Zager? TOON in this Saturday morning to Pokemon Black and White to find out!

Pokemon Black & White battles the Shadow of Zekrom on Cartoon Network

Pokemon Black & White battles the Shadow of Zekrom on Cartoon Network

When it launches the morning of February 12th, Pokemon Black & White will debut as the 14th season of the Pocket Monsters franchise. We know Ash and Pikachu will be there, but what else can we expect from Cartoon Network’s new Saturday Morning series? Well, despite the fact that his quest to become a Pokemon Master has taken over a decade, Ash appears to be younger than ever, with larger eyes and a hipper outfit. Maybe this is something Brock and others disapproved of, as Ash Ketchum’s explorations through the Unova Region are now joined by Iris (who wields the Dragon Pokemon Axew) and Cilan (a Gym Leader with a Grass-type monkey Pokemon Pansage). Typical battles are sure to follow with Team Rocket’s Jessie, James, and Meowth — in title-appropriate black clothes — giving the heroes a fair amount of trouble. But we’ll wait and see along with you tomorrow morning!!
