Horrid Henry Picked Up by Cartoon Network for APAC

Zodiak Kids has recently announced that Novel Entertainment’s 2D animated children’s series Horrid Henry has been licensed by Cartoon Network for the APAC region. As a sign that the show’s not going anywhere, Zodiak Entertainment has also acquired a brand new fourth season of the series from Novel, consisting of 52 x 11 episodes. Cartoon Network has also taken on seasons 4 and 3 and re-licensed seasons 1 and 2, with plans to broadcast over 200 episodes of the series through their APAC feed, which includes Australia, New Zealand, India, South-East Asia and Taiwan.

BRB to Present Latest From Invizimals at MIPCOM 2014

BRB Internacional is preparing to take the very latest developments regarding the series Invizimals to the next edition of MIPCOM (October 13-16 at Cannes), which is just ahead of the series’ worldwide debut at the end of this year. The production will feature a first-rate soundtrack interpreted by Latin teen pop sensation Abraham Mateo for the Spanish-language version.

Trailer for Hello Horizon’s Zeth & Zuna

Fresh new UK-based production outfit Hello Horizon is getting ready to present their first series at MIPCOM. Titled “Zeth & Zuna,” the project is a 3D animated kids series written by legendary animation writer Jeffrey Scott. The series proposal consists of 26 x 11 minute episodes and will be co-created and produced by Hello Horizon founders Rajnish Arora and Elyssa Edmonstone.

Described as the adventures of two robot siblings and their robotic animal friends in an enchanting virtual world, Zeth & Zuna uses bright, well-animated characters to show that real life’s various issues can be resolved in creative ways. You can check out the trailer below:

Cloudbabies Make their Way to Germany


After a successful presentation at the recent MIPCOM market in Cannes, Hoho Rights continues to prove that the future is indeed “in the cloud,” as they have announced a key sale for their new CG animated preschool series Cloudbabies, which is slated to make its way to Germany via ARD and ZDF’s children’s channel KIKA in 2014.

Cloudbabies (52 x 10) focuses on the four eponymous childlike characters who are tasked with looking after the sky, as well as the other denizens of the sky such as Sun, Moon, Rainbow, Fuffa cloud, and Little Star. Together with a mischievous imp named Bobo White, the Cloudbabies take residence in a house on a big, fluffy cloud, doing their tasks day in and day out as they ride out on their Skyhorsies.

Planeta Junior Signs Deal with Studio 100 for Tashi

During the recent MIPCOM 2013, leading European children’s media distributor Planeta Junior has recently signed a licensing agreement with Studio 100 Media GmbH for the new animated series titled Tashi (52 x 12).

The deal will give Planeta Junior exclusive TV, home entertainment, on demand, merchandising, and licensing rights (outside of games, theme parks, music, and stage shows) for the series applicable to the Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Cyprus markets.

Tashi is a hybrid CG and 2D animated series targeted at 6 to 11 year old kids, featuring mystical, mythical, and enigmatic action elements. The series was based on the hit series of Australian children’s books by Barbara and Anna Fienberg, which have sold over a million copies in more than 20 countries worldwide.

Zodiak Gets New Deals for Zack & Quack


Zodiak Kids has recently announced a raft of new pre-sales deals for one of their latest 3D animated preschool shows, Zack & Quack. The series will be made available as a series of 52 x 11 minute episodes and will be presented for the first time at MIPCOM.

The new pre-sales consist of Treehouse in Canada, Discovery Kids Latin America, France TV, YLE in Finland and Turkey’s Minika. There are also DVD partners that have signed up for North America, such as Phase 4 DVD in the US and Corus DVD in Canada. Global broadcast rights, on the other hand, has already been acquired by Nickelodeon, where it will debut on Nick Jr. channels worldwide from early 2014.

BRB Internacional to Present Filly Funtasia at MIP Jr and MIPCOM


BRB Internacional has recently announced that the first batch of episodes of the new animated series Filly Funtasia will be presented at the upcoming MIP Junior and MIPCOM marketplaces. The series will be produced by Screen 21/Black Dragon, and will be available in dynamic 3D HD. All 26 episodes of the series will be ready for broadcast in early 2014.
