Fox works a deal with The Simpsons, signing season 24 and 25

For a moment there, we were worried. After 20+ seasons and nearing 500 episodes, it honestly wasn’t clear if the Simpsons was going to see a 24th season. A feud had developed between Fox and the cast behind-the-scenes, largely over money, that put the show’s future in jeopardy, despite being the longest running cartoon in history, and the longest running series (animated or not) on TV today. But now, just a few short days later, all is well in the Simpsons household, as the world of yellow, four-fingered folks has worked out their differences and will return to Fox for at least a 24th and 25th season. Since running as an interstitial on the Tracey Ullman Show since 1987, then getting its own spot in 1989, Matt Groening’s the Simpsons is now destined to continue it’s approach to 600 episodes – that is, after successfully passing the 500th this February.

The Simpsons facing cancellation as Fox demands pay cuts

The Simpsons facing cancellation as Fox demands pay cuts

For over two decades, the Simpsons has filled the world with laughter, passing major milestones while in cruise control. However, as we approach the unbelievable 500th episode in the 23rd season, the toon has seemingly found a way to possibly come to an end. Not over ratings, not over a lack of creativity – over money! Apparently, the folks at FOX want the voice actors behind our favorite characters to take a pay cut, or else. The demand was made of the six principal actors that they take a nearly 50% reduction in salary. The cast countered, volunteering a 30% pay cut, but also a percentage of the show’s back-end profits. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be agreeable to Fox. Could this be the end of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie’s family…?

Project Springfield recreates the Simpson’s world

Project Springfield recreates the Simpson's world

The Simpsons, the world’s most famous animated family on the world’s most famous animated series, lives in (get ready for it!) the world’s most famous animated town, Springfield. Though no one really knows exactly where in the U.S. Springfield is, that hasn’t stopped fans from making pilgrimages, and gifts, to honor the location. Kyle McCoy is one of those fans, who recently completed an enormous (40 square foot!) model of the fictional city made entirely out of tiny plastic beads. Honest! The task, which he dubbed Project Springfield, involved creating the entire town in 3D one pixel at at time. Sound too amazing to be true? Read on for more details and a video of the work in progress!

McBain movie in The Simpsons revealed

McBain movie in The Simpsons revealed

For over 20 years, the Simpsons have dominated TVs across the world, bringing animation to heights never thought possible. The toon is famous for spreading beyond the main stars of the family to the various townsfolk and special guests, e.g.; the drunks at Moe’s Tavern, Mr. Burns, DuffMan, Ralph Wiggum, and more. One such star, Rainier Wolfcastle, has famously starred in action films throughout the series, in an Arnold Schwarzenegger-like fashion — even starring as the cartoon’s own superhero, Radioactive Man! Most of his appearances, however, are seen in brief snippets or trailers as characters watch films or TV shows as the action hero McBain. Previously, we just loved them because they were funny little moments. …but then some super Simpsons fan strung the clips together only to realize they compile into a McBain mini-movie, complete with it’s own story. …absolutely amazing, both on the part of the show, McBain, and the folks that found the secret. Check it out!
