Marvel readies Wolverine, Storm, and Professor X for the X-Men Anime

Claws? Check. Eye lasers? Got’em. Weather under control? You know it. Anime styling? Now we’re talking! Seems like Marvel’s upcoming X-Men Anime has it all, from all of your favorite Mutants (Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, Beast, Professor X, etc.) to the dynamic action adventure they’ll be quested on! Animax is happy to tease the upcoming project, offering a nice sneak peek teaser trailer that we were lucky enough to grab for your viewing pleasure. For Japanese speaking fans, the toon will be available on Animax starting April 1st. The English-speaking rest of us will have to wait until later this year for our translation, available on G4.

Marvel’s X-Men franchise has seen 4 movies to date; X-Men in 2000, and sequels X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand (in 2003 and 2006, respectively) as well as last year’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Each has pulled in about $200 million, fueling the super hero genre for Disney’s newest acquisition. Now, producer Fox Studios has plans to bring the series back for a 5th film, dubbed X-Men: First Class. A release date has been set for June 3, 2011, and Matthew Vaughn will take the director role, running with a script idea by Bryan Singer. No casting news has been recovered yet, nor even a list of Mutants, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated. Stay TOONed!

More details on Marvel Super Hero Squad

Marvel Super Hero SquadThe recently announced Marvel cartoon, Marvel Super Hero Squad, will have a whole collection of famous cartoon-voices to power the series.  The toon features the voices of Tom Kenny (from Spongebob), Charlie Adler (from Transformers), Steve Blum (from Wolverine and the X-Men,  and the Hulk Vs. movies) and Grey DeLisle (from Fairly Oddparents and The Replacements).  The series will also feature a number of special guest voices, including comic book creator Stan Lee as the Mayor of Super Hero City.

Super Hero Squad SetWell, we’ve had Wolverine cartoons, Spider-Man cartoons, a whole collection of heroes with their own toon. But now, Marvel is done breaking them up! With the help of Cartoon Network, they’re gonna bring out the whole family! Marvel Super Hero Squad will debut later this year, featuring Captain America, Silver Surfer, Hulk, Wolverine, Iron Man and more! Their job, to protect Super Hero City from VillainVille’s infamous criminals in this new series from Film Roman and Marvel Animation.  Check out the full poster after the break!
