Kirby and Pokemon titles head to Nintendo Wii

Kirby and Pokemon titles head to Nintendo Wii

Despite all the hubbub about the hot new Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo still knows there’s a loyal following for the beloved Nintendo Wii. Thus, the venerable video game company is happy to oblige with Wii-related news and games, laying out a schedule for the rest of 2011, and making special note of a Kirby title set to hit before year’s end. Kirby, star of the animated “Right Back At Ya” series (known in Japan as Kirby of the Stars) already had an amazingly popular Wii title hit just before year’s end, Kirby’s Epic Yarn, but we wont say ‘nothin if you wont! As for the Pokemon title, details are still shrouded in mystery. Could a true Pokemon title finally be heading to a non hand held console? Will just have to wait and catch them all!

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

Oh Nintendo and Disney, you’ve done it again! Not only will the two of you continue to bring us loyal fans the latest and greatest chapters in Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts, like with Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, but now there’s already plans for the saga to enter the third dimension on Nintendo’s upcoming handheld system, the Nintendo 3DS. The upcoming game now officially has a name, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance – note the “three D’s” in the title. Clever, right? Square Enix has already teased some footage of Dream Drop Distance in a teaser trailer, promising a game that welcomes 3D features, with the ability to play as Sora and Riku. Take a look and get excited!

Disney unveils Kingdom Hearts 3D for Nintendo 3DS

The latest edition in the Kingdom Hearts saga, Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, is still selling like hotcakes on the Nintendo DS platform, but that hasn’t stopped Disney or Square Enix from prepping the next chapter! And this time, we’re looking at a whole new dimension – the third! …dimension! While no release date has yet been set, Disney has confirmed Kingdom Hearts 3D will be hitting the new Nintendo 3DS system sometime “soon”. The game was teased at E3 2010 and will no doubt make an appearance at E3 2011, filled with shots of Sora, King Mickey, and others traveling out of the game and right into your eye! It’s not yet confirmed whether Kingdom Hearts 3D will be a side quest, a new direction, or a “true” sequel to the main franchise, but whatever it is, we want it!

Disney gets Kingdom Hearts Recoded in stores

After the events of Kingdom Hearts II, and the Battle with Xemnas, Sora, Riku and Kairi take some time to relax on Destiny Islands. Meanwhile, Jiminy Cricket spends his time chronicling the events from the first game when he notices a line he didn’t remember writing. It seems a number of things in Jiminy’s journal have the power to create themselves spontaneously, as the gang will soon learn, spiraling through virtual levels of locations they’ve already visited in earlier game titles. There’s Destiny Islands, Traverse Town, Alice’s Wonderland, Olympus Coliseum, Agrabah, and Hollow Bastion to name a few, in addition to Disney’s Castle. Along for the ride are King Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, the Heartless, Maleficent, Pete, and many other heroes and villains from Disney’s catalog. And now, the game can be yours, as Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded hits shelves in the US on January 11th; January 14th in the UK.

Pokemon Black and Pokemon White march towards Nintendo DS

Pokemon Black and Pokemon White march towards Nintendo DS

The Pokemon Black Version and Pokemon White Version Nintendo DS games are coming soon, each set to arrive in stores on March 6th, 2011. Conveniently (or, perhaps, inconveniently) this is about the same time Nintendo will be unveiling the successor to the DS, the Nintendo 3DS. As no mention has been made of this game possessing a secret 3D mode, fans have been speculating that these titles will likely mark the swan song for the original handheld, as more and more lean towards the 3D future. Either way, we can’t recall being so excited for a game to arrive, much less two — can you??

Toy Story 3 Blu-ray and DVD Review

Seems like just a few months ago, we were hyping the release of Toy Story 3 in theaters. …oh wait, it was! Alright, fine. Mr. Men and Little Miss on your Nintendo DS

Mr. Men and Little Miss on your Nintendo DS

Cartoon Network’s happy little critters, Mr. Men and Little Miss, will be heading to your Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi, and the rest of the extended DS family – minus their yet-to-be-born little brother, Nintendo 3DS. However, we’re not talking about a video game! An accessory company named Blaze has created the perfect protector case for your handheld gaming system, completely adorning in a style of the Mr. Men and Little Miss characters. We’d love to see a lot more of these cross overs – maybe a rubbery DS stylus in honor of Adventure time? Or a green DS with a eye mask, ala Ninja Turtles…?? Can you think of any others?

Pokemon Black and White sells a bajillion copies to Japanese Pokémon fans

We’re not sure if you know this or not, but that Pokémon thing seems to be pretty popular. Honest! “How popular,” you ask? Well, recently, the latest game in the franchise, Pokemon Black and White, launched in Japan. In the first two days of appearing on the market, Pokefans purchased over 2.6 million copies of the game. That, we’d argue, is a bucket load of Pocket Monsters. The game is available on the Japanese Nintendo DS, as well as the Nintendo DS Lite, Nintendo DSi, and the jumbo Nintendo DSiXL — not the Nintendo 3DS …yet. Other audiences in Europe and the Americas will have to wait until next spring to battle it out with the 5th generation Pokemon, like Mijumaru, Pokabu, Tsutaaja, Reshiram, Zekrom, Zorua, and Zoroark. We can hardly wait!!
