Wild Kratts’ Worldwide Popularity Goes Beyond Cartoons


Kratt Brothers Company and 9 Story Media Group have recently announced several new exciting developments regarding the show Wild Kratts, which is a wildlife-oriented edutainment cartoon based on the exploits of the real life zoologist brothers. The show has recently gained the no. 1 spot with kids aged 4 to 8 and 6 to 11 across several networks, including its debut channel PBS.

9 Story Entertainment Finds Multiple Homes for Peg + Cat

9 Story Entertainment has recently secured a raft of new deals for their hit animated preschool series, Peg + Cat. The 80 x 12 series has been acquired by a number of new broadcasters that include Treehouse (Canada), SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland), TVNZ (New Zealand), TG4 (Ireland) and Canal+ Family together (France and French-speaking territories). The series premiered earlier this month on Treehouse in Canada and originally debuted on PBS Kids in the U.S. in the fall of 2013.

The series was previously licensed to Super RTL (Germany and German-speaking Europe), ABC TV Australia, HOP (Israel), Mini-Mini (Poland), E-Junior (UAE), Zee Learn (India) and Disney (Korea).

Sid The Science Kid is set to return with 5 more episodes that aim to help children learn the basics of engineering and technology, but this time, Sid will feature technology that is Girl-friendly, and will be bringing a few of his friends to help. The 5 new episodes of Sid the Science Kid is scheduled to air on December 5th at PBS Kids!, and the first episode will feature Emmy Award-winning actress America Ferrera as the voice of marine biologist Dr. Rosalind Cordova.

Sesame Street Tackles Bullying Issue

If you’re a kid or a parent who’s currently dealing with issues related to bullying, you may want to keep an eye out for the next few Sesame Street episodes. The Sesame Street episode entitled The Good Birds Club, which airs on PBS stations this Monday, October 17 (check your listings for local schedules), will tackle the issue of bullying amongst kids through a number of cartoons, live action segments, muppet interactions and more. The Good Birds Club follows Big Bird‘s story as he gets harassed and bullied by another bird in the neighborhood.

Martin and Chris Kratt have made a pretty tremendous leap, from the real-world role of zoologists, to the animated-world role of …well, cartoons! Their series, Wild Kratts, has run on PBS Kids Go! in the U.S. and TVOntario in Canada for the past season, among other places around the globe, and they’re ready to start with some new episodes. Thankfully, 9 Story Entertainment and Kratt Brothers Co. are in on the plan, getting a second season of the toon out and ready to go. Twenty-six new episodes, in all, will fill out Wild Kratts: season two, with the boys getting into all types of new trouble. Hopefully, you’ll be along for the ride!

Tomorrow, on Labor Day, Monday September 5th, PBS Kids Go! will get a special guest visit from world renowned weather man Al Roker! The star of NBC’s The Today Show will drop by in animated form in a new episode of WorldGirl, ready to help with the new Word of the Month: Meteorologist. With all of his Meteorologing (which will never be the world of the month, btw) over the years, Al Roker was absolutely the perfect selection for the featured episode, Sonny Days with a Chance of Showers. Don’t miss it; the forecast says it will be great!
